This is our favourite spot to eat at in the region. It has a homey, country vibe with bench seating done in cow hide, lots of... wood and great menu. I had never been one to order a burger when dining out, but I can?t seem to stop ordering the same thingeach time when we go here - burger, poutine, salad and chicken wings (lemon pepper). Always lots to take home to enjoy the nextday. We also have had the schnitzel, liver and onions (wonderful). They have a great little bar to watch sports and the serviceis always top notch and friendly. We just had a burger at the Chop House here in Wellesley. My stomach just gave me the wink and the nod, my taste buds are... resting from the flavour, if my teeth could high five they would have. Love this place. Wish I lived close by. Chef was extremely knowledgeable,as was Maddie our waitress. Honest and wholehearted.... Food was absolutely delicious. Beef gravy is on point..... but the local beef is a hit. You gotta try this place. 10/10. Read more

I had heard good things about the Nith River Chop House and was looking forward to our visit. I was disappointed. The building... is decorated in a rustic, western style, with lots of cow hides. Unfortunately, the hides are all extremely worn, only havinghair left in places that are not touched by customers. I found it cold, almost as if the heat had not been turned on, (wevisited in the first week of November). A visit to the bathroom led to the discovery that both stalls were plugged up. One hadan out of service note taped to the door, the other had obviously been blocked more recently. The initial service was ok,coffees were brought and our orders taken. It was early afternoon and the place was pretty quiet. We passed two tables withcustomers on the way to our table and were seated beside a third occupied table. The couple and infant beside us soon left andwere replaced by a couple of guys at the nearby bar. The wait for our food didn't seem to be that long and when it arrived mywife was quite pleased with her macaroni and cheese. I had ordered the 10 oz peppercorn steak medium rare. The veg and bakedpotato that arrived with the steak were fine. I was not happy with the steak. The steak was heavily covered in a dark sauce so Icouldn't see the surface of the steak but it tasted very charred. The thin end of the steak was well done and the thick end wasdone to medium. The waitress never came back to see if the food was ok and that the steak was prepared as I had ordered. If youcall yourself a steak house and make a big deal about the nature of the beef you are serving your customers, I really feel thatyou are supposed to pay attention to how you customer wants it prepared. In fact, if you run a resteraunt, it's usually derigueur that you make sure that the customer is happy with the food you have served.
