Where do I begin to tell the journey of food, wine, and joy I experienced with my meal here. I was unable to travel home for... American Thanksgiving so I made the trek to QC to stay the night and have a solo dinner here. What a fantastic way to be rightat home when I could not be home. I opted for the 5 course and not one bite disappointed. The Sommelier had done an outstandingjob pairing wines with each course and relaying important details of the Wendat, Quebec, and Europe. The waitress was kind andjovial and expressed her love for the food with each course served. This was absolutely one of my favorite Thanksgiving mealsever. Read more

This restaurant has got to be one of the best experiences I've had. Every single plate we've tried were super well prepared,... presented, and served. The dishes are unique, tasty, and absolutely delicious. They serve traditional Indigenous food whichmakes it even better. Not to mention the amazing service we received from Jimmy. He was extremely kind, responsive, availableand welcoming. Quite frankly, Jimmy is the reason why anyone would want to come back here provided the amazing service he'soffered us (couple of 2 people) but also a group of 20. I highly recommend this restaurant and will most definitely coming back.I live 3 hours away in Montreal, and would drive here just for this restaurant's food, ambiance, and Jimmy's service. I wouldrate it 6 stars if I could. Thank you for the amazing experience. Read more

My wife parents said hey come snack at Wendake, I expected a regular meal, but WOW let me say I am still digesting the delicious... gastronomy and still think about it 3 days later ! Superb presentation, more than amazing service, relaxed ambiance. I wouldgive 6 stars, I would gladly compare it to my experiences at my top restaurants in quebec city (St-Amour, Laurie Raphaël, LaChaudrée, Parmesan) and I'm inclined to say it beat them ! The bread is the only thing that could be improved ! Wonderful !Will definitely visit again ! Read more

Took our kids (9,11,12) for their first fancy dinner out. They are pretty adventurous eaters and mildly behaved in public but... this was their first (almost 3 hour) multiple course meal. There were other kids at the restaurant. The atmosphere was upscalebut also laid back enough that I didn’t feel uncomfortable with the kids there. Food was very interesting and delicious. Thereis not a kids menu but the restaurant was great and made kid size plates off the adult menu. Kids loved it! A great experienceand the best part was our waiter, Stephane. He was funny and kind; asked the kids their names and made all our interactionssuper personalized. It was a great family night! Read more

I was hesitant to eat here only because of the high prices. After studying the menu I decided on the Cercle de la Vie or Circle... of Life option. It was $55 which is reasonable. It consisted of 4 courses. Drinks were extra of course. Well I wasn’tdisappointed whatsoever! The food was fantastic! I really enjoyed the lobster tartar and my main dish which consisted of 3 jumboshrimp. The service was perfect and our server was great! He was polite and greeted us in both English and French. In highlyrecommend La Traite. I will definitely be returning. ?????? Read more

Beautiful setting with a nice contemporary-rustic dining room. Waiter and staff were very nice and welcoming, especially with... the kids. Menu is unnecessarily complicated, with many choices of tasting menus, combos, à la carte items. Although theymarket their kitchen as gastronomy, flavours were dull and the native influence seems watered down. (There was some lichen inone of the plates, I guess that counts...) There is a kids menu, and kids eat for free with an accompanying adult, but thechoices were strange, with an overly complex salad, a non-described soup, and a very very simple bolognese pasta. Do not be in ahurry, dishes come out of the kitchen Ever. So. Slowly. After about 10 years of operation, they have perhaps lost adistinguishing touch, promising exotic and unique foods, and serving generic food that could be found for cheaper without thetrek it takes to get there. Amazing restaurant! Their buffet offers a great variety of food, excellent quality food and all sorts of treats (even French... decadent Maracons!) One of the best culinary experiences I ever had! The building itself is gorgeous with a fire place in themiddle, with wolf skins and Native American art. Read more
