We arrived near the end of the evening, about 45 minutes before closing. All of the courses were prepared beautifully and... ingredients were fresh. Chef is a natural; by far, the best Japanese food / sushi I've eaten in SE Michigan. Our server wasattentive and genuinely a kind person, as were other wait staff. Food was served with perfect timing and professionalism. Wewere mindful of the closing time and didn't dally but we finished our meal about 20 minutes after closing. Saw a lot of good reviews of this restaurant and decide to check it out. Their menu is pretty big especially their... appetizers. From all the good reviews, do all the diner realized their foods are lukewarm. I don't understand why. All theirfood is the same temperature as sushi. I haven't try everything yet but my food was lukewarm. Ika sugatayaki (grill squid),unagi Don (grill eel). Weird, they tasted good but kinda baffles me. Beside that I don't have much complain. My husband works in the area and has eaten here a few times with rave reviews, so when he invited me for a lunch date, I was... excited. New Yotsuba didn't disappoint - the interior is gorgeous. My husband talked fondly about their katsu curry, so I had totry it. The portion size is very generous, and between it and the salad and miso, I have plenty left over for dinner tonight.The katsu was great, but the curry was fantastic; I loved the big chunks of carrot and potato. Service was great, staff was very polite. This place was clean, I love their interior layout. Food was ordered and at our table... within just a few minutes of ordering. Sushi tasted perfect, rice and everything was the perfect texture and taste. Everythingwas so fresh too! Even the avocado rolls! I moved to this area from Chicago and have been looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant for a while and finally found it.... Fantastic food, service and presentation with fair pricing.
