Cinar is one of my favorite restaurants. I have brought many people here. I have a limited diet at this time, so I order the... basics like their kabobs, but they are so could. Their Cinar salad is to die for. We always order a couple of them to share withthe table. Sometimes we order the Lebni and add that to the salad. Good food, good service, beautifully appointed. We ordered the liver and mixed kabob for two. Oh boy it tasted even better than food I’ve had in Turkey! Every bite was full... of flavor, tender, and balanced. They must have a 5 star professional chef in the kitchen! Our server was wonderful and quicklyattended to all our needs. Read more

The most amazing and delicious Turkish Breakfast I ever had. Not only in New Jersey area. I’ve tried lots of places in the... Tri-State area and it’s definitely 5 Stars. Everything is homemade. There’s a lot of food when you order Turkish Breakfast. The cheese on the platter is very rich. Definitely try the Turkish eggy toast. It’s absolutely so yummy. It’s only onSundays 10:00am-2:00pm. The atmosphere is fantastic. Especially for any kind of showers or parties. I’ve found out they have 2more locations in Cliffside Park,NJ & Livingston,NJ as well. The owner is super nice and he welcomes and is so polite tocustomers. The prices are very reasonable. They have a huge parking lot. Handicapped customers are welcome to restrooms andparking lot. Too out dinner, food was meh. Super pricey for the small amounts of food. The lamb kababs were delicious, and the cigar bonek... with feta (large feta stick similar to a mozz stick). However the hot faffel platter was cold and dry. There was a dab of hummusand no taziki. Was very disappointed. The pita was store bought and the side of pita came in the store bought bag cold. Will notbe going back anytime soon. Read more

One of the best "Albanian Liver" I've ever eaten in my whole life. I loved them so much. They were fluffy and so tasty. Red... onions give the best acidity to consume the deliciousness of the livers. With its other two branches around NJ, CinarRestaurant is the best example of authentic Turkish cuisine. Try Cinar Borek and cigar borek with tomato jam also. All mincedmeat kebabs, marinated chicken shish, Turkish Manti (Dumplings), and mezzes are delicious. Cinar is an owner-operatedrestaurant, and they have a natural background in Turkish cuisine. By the way, the restaurant is BYOB (Bring Your OwnBottle) Lamb Shank is to die for! Bon appetite! - "Afiyet olsun" in Turkish :) Read more

If you’ve never enjoyed the the wonderful flavors of Turkish cuisine here’s your opportunity to discover these delicious... flavors right here in New Jersey at Cinar. Tunc Ozlu, owner of 3 Cinar restaurants brought his mother’s recipes and createdwhat I feel is probably one of the most eclectic menus for a Turkish restaurant. For our tasting menus dinner, we were treatedto “Pink Queen,” a tasty blend of yogurt and beets that we spread on hot fresh pita. This was followed by the creamiesthummus I have every tasted, and I eat Mediterranean cuisine alot. Then we had the Coban Salatsi, Shepherd’s salad, which isone of my faves. By now people were groaning and we haven’t even gotten to the appetizers. The roasted eggplant babaganoushwas tender and delectable and vanished as soon as it was on the table. Another favorite was the cigar boreks, light Phil doughfilled with feta and rolled and deep fried. They disappeared quickly also. In a past meal Tunc served up zucchini pancakes thatwere so good you wanted to punch your mother for never making them. Finally the main courses arrived. Tender chicken kabobs withchunks of breast meat juicy on the inside and crusty on the outside hit the table with the best adana this side of Ankara. Bynow, the table was groaning from all the food on it. I actually thought I heard somebody’s button pop. Dessert was made up ofthree favorites; naturally one was their home made baklava, freshly made vanilla pudding (Kazandibi) and one of my faves, knafe, made with spun pastry called kataifi, soaked in syrup called attar and filled with a sweet cheese and then covered in crushedpistachio nuts. I had a demitasse of Turkish coffee to wash it down. If you want to try some of these fantastic dishes, all youhave to do is find the nearest Cinar and make reservations. Oh, if you mention freerangechowhound’s recommendation you can geta free glass of ice water. Read more

Great food and great service. We decided to try this place for the first time and we were very impressed with the quality and... taste of all the dishes. For appetizer we ordered Cinar Salad, Baba Ganush and Fried Calf Livers. Delicious. all of the itemswere prepared and made perfectly. The Baba Ganush was literally made like home made dish, with some smokiness to the taste andabsolutely amazing. Calf livers were tasty, very tender and absolutely not dry at all. Perfectly prepared. Then for the maincourse, we decided to share a Kabob Platter for two, added a lamp chop to it for small additional price. The entire dish wasamazing and pretty straight forward prepared to perfection, but here is where this place shined the most. Usually Chicken Adonais a bit dry, but in this place it is very tasty and very juicy. The flavor is out of this world and all the food came outperfectly prepared and extremely tasty. Price wise, I would say they are pretty much the same as other places in the samecategory, so to finalize, we love all of the food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back again. Looking forward toalso try their Livingston location, which I am sure is just as good. Read more
