We were looking for a Greek restaurant in the Philly/Wilmington area to celebrate the graduation of a student of ours from... Greece. We landed on Opa and it couldn’t have been more pleased. We sat outside - and the place was full by 6:30 on a weeknight (a great sign). Our student helped pick the menu for us which included many traditional Greek dishes, desserts, and Greekbeer. We got lucky~ no wait and front table next to the bar and open to the outdoor dining on a beautiful night! We both ordered the... veg gyro with a few upgrades~ lemon potatoes & sautéed spinach ~ replacing the fries. I love fries, but when in Greece ???? ~they exceeded our expectations full of fresh lemon juice! The gyros were also cooked to perfection~ warm pita and steamy crisppeppers & onions. Ana, our server, was a delight ???? & the friendly bartender told us about their hand craft bourbon w/maplewood & the variety of sangrias (he recommends the rose sangria) ~ we will be back for happy hour to try and let you knowwhat we think! Loved this place. When a place surprises you with exactly what a great experience should be: friendly quick service, ample menu... variety, flavorful plates, great ambiance and perfect portions! Plenty street parking a couple of parking garages within ashort walk. This is the perfect place for Greek food and it just became one of my favorites. Seems they have amazing ????cocktails as well, but I haven't tried them. Seems they do French fry chips, the best I've ever had! And that hummus wasperfect! Overall great Valentine's experience and dinner. The staff was very attentive and accommodate to all guest. For Valentines the... restaurant had a pre-set menu. However I was not disappointed by anything on the menu that I ordered. We also ordered twococktails. Both were fun and full of flavor! We will definitely revisit this restaurant and I would highly recommend giving ita try if you've never been. Read more
I went here because my friend had a gift card. The restaurant's ambiance was nice but I felt out of place dressed in my everyday... clothes. Our waiter was very nice and our water glasses never got more than halfway empty. We didn't even have to ask for ourwater to be refilled. My friend got the chicken gyro and her mom got the lentil soup and chicken gyro. I got theKolokithokeftedes (fried zucchini balls) with tzatziki. My zucchini with tzatziki was delicious. I was told the lentil soup wasdelicious and my friend liked her gyro but her mom wasn't a fan of the chicken in hers. Overall a pretty good experience. Read more
