Been eyeing this place for a long time and finally had the opportunity to visit this weekend. For those considering this as a... weekend date night option, RESERVE. It gets very busy and the only walk in option is on the rooftop (which can get quite chillythis time of year) This restaurant offered a unique menu for both food and drink. We went with the schnitzel and paired it withtheir pumpkin-inspired cocktail. The food: the collards were tough, needed more time, and also sweet (I thought it was alrightbut my partner was not a fan). The schnitzel itself was a bit bland, could of used a bit more seasoning/flavor (although thecenter did have a sauce which helped.. perhaps a bit more would do the trick) The egg on top was not just runny.. it was clearlyundercooked (some of the whites were still translucent -see photo) The drink: strong. Almost like a shot with an eggnogaftertaste. I'm not complaining but for those who like a more even pairing, be aware. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.Was not the top tier dining experience I had hoped but it def had the vibes and the potential. Also, military discount for myfellow veterans. ???? Read more

Nice atmosphere. Good waitress. Had the Hanger Steak(medium rare) with Fries. Steak was somewhat chewy and kinda bland. My GF... got the New York Strip(medium) with fries. It was unfortunately well done in a few spots and medium well in others. I'll givethem another shot. Read more
Graduation was yesterday and we had family in from over 1,000 miles away. We showed up a bit early for our reservation and it... was all ready for us, not a moment of waiting. Monica was a fantastic server, she had the drinks full all evening. We had alarge party of 8 and all of our food came out together, fresh and hot. Everyone had nothing but raves about their dinner. Thegrilled cheese, the burger, the meatloaf, the salmon salad, and especially my chicken curry crepe were delicious. My SO and I came here for my 30th birthday dinner. We had made a reservation about a day or two in advance and glad we did. We... were seated immediately by a great host staff and got our drink orders in within a minute or two. Hunter, our server (who wasactually GM and filling in to help out) was great. Ordered a bottle of wine and answered all of our questions about the menu.And since it was my birthday, they offered a complimentary glass of champagne which went phenomenally with the half shelloysters. Our entrees came out quick and my SO enjoyed her salad and I had the daily special of Duck & Egg. The duck was cookedperfectly per Hunters recommendation and the entire plate was delicious. I’m still giving this place 5 stars because of thequality of the dishes and the entire feel and vibe of the dining room. No one seemed out of place and it felt like such awelcoming environment! The only very slight gripe I had was that I wish the duck breast was hit with some finishing salt sinceit was served sliced. But other than that, the experience was one I’ll never forget!! This was my first time at Black Roosterbut most certainly won’t be the last! I can’t wait to try out all of the other dishes on the menu. Black Rooster is another one of my go to's when I want to ENNNNNJOOOY my food and drinks. They have seasonal and house... interpreted drinks that are just divine. My new love is their ENZONI made with a Lavender Gin ???? (Is it bad when you order 4of the same drinks before you leave the restaurant?). And I always enjoy their food. This weekend we visited two days back toback. - ... And while we managed to squeeze in a couple of coconut mojitos - Yes, we were there primarily for the belly fillsof Enzoni ???? But as usual the food did not disappoint. I had their restaurant week menu which was a three course meal on thefirst night's visit and the second night I went with their Royale with Cheese... probably the ONLY time I will eat a burgercooked all the way through. Now that I am writing this I realize I want one again... Hunter - who was serving some bang updrinks a few months ago is now the manager apparently - CONGRATULATIONS. And he really exudes the kind of hosting that makeseveryone feel home. Comes over and greets you, a bit of idle but interesting chit chatter, some drinks or food anecdotes... IfI only went to the spot where the atmosphere feels welcoming and warm yet sophisticated and exciting - it would be here everysingle time. Read more
One of my favorite restaurants! They change up their menu often but every single item I've gotten off of the menu....I loved!!... These photos are when I took my 2 daughters out to eat so it was a basic night. But they have something for any pallette ???? Read more
