It's our first time. I love taking my baby out to eat. Gen is a great place to go to foe the experience. The line is long... I... find the food very good but somewhat common.... the place was very noisy.... you o ly have an hour and a half to eat whateveryou can and hope the food keeps coming (in our case they were slow)... and to top it all off, they let us in even though theyknow that we don't have an hour and a half left. But in fairness, we started if with an hour and 15 mins. We've been to cheaperplaces with great food. Will we go back? NO.... BUT ITS A GREAT PLACE just not for us. Read more
Probably one of the worst barbecue spots I have ever been to. The meat quality has gone down dramatically. The best part of the... meal was the white rice. If you want real Korean barbecue I would recommend going to Koreatown. 1/5 to the food and 5/5 to ourserver, Beto. He was great!!! Read more
Just wanted to share the horrible service my family received from this location today. First interaction was the hostess did... not even have a friendly vibe to them. They weren't welcoming. And if you're going to be in this line of work, you should havesome kind of friendly feel to you. Then when they were finally sat down, she went off on what they can't accept, and what myfamily can't do. I understand things change, but there is a level of professionalism you need to have. From what they told me, the waiter did his best on making their experience satisfying. Then we go into the cleanliness, and to be a well established chain, it should have been better. Dirty windows, wall, and even the tables. They were the first ones there when they opened, so no excuses why it shouldn't have been clean. My son and his family invited me to join them in celebrating a special birthday. I have driven by the place alot. Never been... there before. The wait is over 1 hr with your name on the list. The atmosphere is like clubbing with music blasting loud andthe bar decor. The server we had was super nice and courteous. I couldn't hear when he was repeating the 1st round of thingswe ordered. Since it is a Korean BBQ place, you cook your own food right in front of you. They limit you now to 1 1/2 hr toeat inside. I was told before the pandemic, it didn't matter how long you were there eating. The food was great. It wasdifficult to hear him repeat your order or the things you wanted was not brought out to you even you asked a few timesalready. Better check your receipt re your order too. The place is really dirty. The restroom is so filthy. Chemicals under the sink and it's dark. It felt like they are hiding it... from being notice. This place needs to scrub thoroughly from top to bottom. Our server was doing an awesome job. Although Iwould NOT recommend this location. Cleanliness is very important to me. Read more
Town between 3 or 4 stars, so rounding up since every business deserve the benefit of a doubt. As soon as you arrive, they tell... you all the restrictions which is a turn off. Almost seemed happy to do it. At least say it with a smile or apologize orsomething. Just starts with 90 min limit, out of certain meats (in this case tongue) and side dishes are per request. Almostturned around and left, but we?re hungry. Once we were seated though, the service was awesome. Very quick and attentive. Theywork as a team, so they are very efficient. Our main server was very cool and friendly, which helped turn things around. Themeat is not the highest quality, but good enough for fulfill a craving. Only think we didn?t like was the Hawaiian steak.Everything else we tried was pretty good! Brisket, kalbi, calamari, pork belly and prime steak were all pretty good. As for theside dishes, they bring out everything to order and bring you plenty of it. Not sure why they have to share the limitations whenyou arrive. The wait staff were communicative, patient, and went the extra mile for us. They were proactive with our needs and weren't... pushy. The food was so good that my friends continued eating and ordering even after time constraints. They deserved the tip Ileft them. I didn't care how much it was; Mikey was that awesome.
