We visited Iowa for the first time. My family is from Ecuador so when I saw Mi Patria, I had to try it. The food was fantastic.... Super authentic and delicious!! I can’t rave enough about my wonderful experience! I ordered 2 beef and 1 chicken empanadas as appetizers and they were... absolutely delicious! They were much bigger than I anticipated and came with a homemade salsa. I ordered the lomo saltado andOMG hands down the best I’ve ever had. I’m from CA and have had lomo saltado before but this place is the one to beat!!Portion was great (I shared w my partner & we were both full.) Our waitress was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming and madefor an even better experience. This was my first time in Des Moines and Mi Patria was the last meal I had before heading back toCA.
