Stopped here for drinks after dinner on a weekday. Saw no crowd for the first time while waiting to be seated. We sat by the... bar. The service was good and drinks were good. Nice place to hang out as it stays open long in West Hartford. Read more

With all the newer restaurants I sometimes forget Bareclona is still around but glad we got to stop by the other night.... Reservation was easy to do online and for some reason this place slows down in the summer. They've had OG outdoor seating andit is perfect for summer nights. Flavors are really good and small plates have great variety. Sangria was really light andrefreshing as well as the gintonics. Highlights of the meal were the bikini sandwiches, the salmon, pork belly, and the oliveoil cake (comes out warm, has a tangy / citrus taste at first but then the savory finish, cake is moist and kind of like afluffier pound cake). Staff here is really one of the shining lights as everyone is personable, low key, and perfectly seamlessteamwork as there are different members bringing you food throughout the meal. My only complaint would be the paella. Weordered the paella salvaje and it was fairly dry. Would definitely love to see a mixed paella that adds some seafood that wouldhelp prevent everything from drying out. Read more
I'm not exaggerating when I say that Barcelona is like the Golden Age of customer service. They've done a good job of staying... that way over the years. I go there with my wife during our occasional date-nights. The food is great, but what keeps me comingback is that the waitstaff - provided it's not a bare-bones crew night - seems legitimately happy that you're there. Now thething that really ropes me in is when they add that "Big Moment" to your visit. This one guy gave us a complimentary flan forour 'special occasion' that night - AND, to top it off, he poured sherry on top of it and set it on fire at the table. It waslike watching a magician work. Having dessert is swell enough, but having it served in dramatic fashion makes you feel likeroyalty. I've seen a few reviews from sticker-shock types, and the only thing I can say is that the price is the price. If yougo out to eat in West Hartford, you should know what you're in for. Buying these ingredients isn't exactly cheap at the grocerystore either; nobody expects a bag of Kraft shredded cheese to cost the same thing as goat cheese imported from somewhere inBasque country. Such an awesome experience with Michael this past Thursday. We have been in for drinks prior but had never tried their food-we... were blown away. The bread they give you to start with is amazing as well as the variety of options. Michael recommended theirnewest tapas which was green beans with almonds and truffle vinaigrette. These were to die for!! We loved all of Michael?srecommendations as well as his fast and friendly service. Along with the green beans we tried the calamari, potato tortilla,albondigas, steak paillard, and the empanadas. The only tapas we felt was not worth the value was the steak paillard- smallportion and tough meat. We will definitely be back to try the other options! Read more
An awesome experience. The food is exquisite, the atmosohere is beautiful, and the service was terrific. They serve small tapas... style dishes here and offer a massive selection. Some dishes you have never heard of and some classics will be on the menu. Allof them are equally delicious. Expect to pay a hefty bill as it can be pricey and the food will add up.
