I was in town for business and staff at my hotel told me to check out The Black Bear. The wait staff was great and very... friendly. The FOOD!!!! OH MY GOSH WAS AWESOME! This huge plate of food was presented to me, so much more than expected! It wascooked and seasoned perfectly!!! The price was great too! Great experience! Went on a Sunday morning and there was no wait time. Our waiter was great and the food was delicious. Be... warned! The portions are pretty big so keep that in mind when ordering as you might get full quick and have some leftovers.Everything we ordered was 10/10 and I love the cute bear decor inside and the bear logos all over =). 7/13/22: We spent a great time having dinner on our dad?s birthday here!! They have good portion for the price we paid, and... their food taste great (seasoning nicely, not overly salty). You will be walking in to a cozily and beautifully decorated space,and our server was friendly. Got seated right away, the place was not very busy when we got there. Seemed like there were quite a few new people working... there. We ordered coffee, hot and iced. Their concept of how ice coffee should be made and served was a little off. In otherwords, no warm or hot coffee served over ice, ever. Ordered Bruce's meat lovers omelet Hash browns and grits, I was broughtHash browns and pancakes. Omelet, Hash browns, and pancakes were good. But I would have preferred the grits, possibly nexttime. Shasta Scramble with wheat toast and coffee. It all came out right. So all the ceiling fans were running, except the oneclosest to our table, it was inoperable. I stopped by for dinner with my wife and kids on Monday. The food and service were excellent as usual. We usually dine in on... Saturday or Sunday nights when we take our kids to the movies. All the waiters and waitresses always take good care of us andnever forget to bring our kids their ice cream which makes them very happy, while my wife and I enjoy our coconut cream pies.Always a pleasant experience! The Black Bear Diner is a fantastic diner that promises through its large portions and fantastic menu options to leave you... walking out full. Our party took an assortment of foods from breakfast egg dishes and pancakes to burgers and onion rings - allof us were enamored by the charm of the diner and the delicious menu items, but we will all need some time to walk off all thefood we had! This is the third time I've eaten at Black Bear diner in Jordan Landing. Each time has been variation of my experience this day.... The portions are generous, I've never left without to-go boxes. My only negative is the food. On my first trip here I got friedpotatoes and they were beautiful and crispy but the oil tasted like it had gotten too hot and the flavor was unfortunate. Thistime I ordered biscuits and gravy, ham, and scrambled eggs. The gravy and the eggs were a degree above being cold. Someone elsegot a bacon chicken wrap and french fries and absolutely loved everything. Another person got chicken fried steak, eggs, andhash browns. Their food was also less than warm and the eggs undercooked. She says the whites were runny. To be fair, the eggswere over easy and that was possibly my friend not understanding that's how the eggs are cooked. I will say that the service isgreat and all the staff is attentive and polite.
