Ordered our food and waited 90minutes when it was only 5 minutes away. I called and they said the driver left 10 minutes ago and... should be there now or soon. Waited another 30 min and still hadn't arrived. 3 hours later i get a text that there was a problemwith my order and ill get a 10% discount next time. Really? Open late, pretty quick, and you can get your food rather spicy. The location is great if you're close to campus or at the... bars. That's about it for the positives. The food is mediocre and the prices are high compared to the other Chinese places intown. The meats were all dry and over done for us, and the dishes were extremely vegetable heavy with small portions for adinner sized meal. Read more
I absolutely love the food at rice cafe! It?s one of the best restaurants to get some reasonable priced Chinese food that tastes... absolutely amazing!! I looked at some one star reviews that said the deliveries took way too long, and I have to say that I?vehad a few times when my orders took about two hours to be delivered, but you have to understand that they only have one driverwho has to delivery ALL those deliveries. I?ve ordered delivery a couple of times now and it always happened to be the sameperson. During my first order I heard someone running down the hallway right outside my apartment, and it turned out to be ricecafe?s delivery man! He ran every time while delivering to me, imagine him running to the customers for every single delivery! Ialways place my order through the phone now and would always ask if they?re busy, I would always just pick up my order ifthey?re busy since the food will always be ready within half an hour. I loved their shrimp eggplant. It was so good. It had the right amount of spice, eggplant and shrimp. The combination... complimented each other. The quantity is also great. I can eat it for at least 2 days. Also try their chicken fried rice andsezhwan chicken. Read more
I'd give them less than 1 star if I could. My girlfriend and I went there, ordered our food, they told us it would be 30 minutes... for the dish that she ordered because they had to pull it from the fridge and microwave the dish, then let it cool. She decidedto get something else, she ended up with sweet and sour chicken, and I got sesame chicken and we waited for about 50 minutes inthe store after ordering our food. At about the 35 minute wait time, we asked them about our food because it had been quite sometime and were told "Everyone is waiting this long". We got the food and mine was fairly fresh, and tasted alright, butapparently her food had been ready for quite some time, when she got it the chicken was soggy and tasted old. They are prettypricey compared to other Chinese restaurants with better food, and better customer service. Read more
