Bennigan's is one of the only sit-down restaurants on its stretch of 192. It has ample parking. That's about all it's... got. We've been there twice now, and there won't be a third visit if I can help it. This restaurant just 'gets the job done' -it's not great, or even 'very good'. By comparison, it's like a 2 or 3 star hotel whilst Meg's downtown is a 5-star hotel. There is that much of a difference, folks. And about the same cost. The buffalo chicken salad we ordered was nothing special, and actually made us a bit sick later that evening. We were underwhelmed the first visit too, and after about a year or morehoped this time would be different. But nope, it's mediocre at best, with very little atmosphere to make you wanna hang out. This restaurant serves a purpose but is not one to "make plans to go to", if you want a great meal. It's too bad they don't havesome competition on that stretch of road. Might make them 'up their game' a little. As it is, you'd do better to drive a fewmore miles to grab a better lunch. Read more

Had fish & chips. It was great. Friendly servers. Couple other people came to check on how things were. Not sure if they were... the cook, manager, or whatever but wanted to make sure we were happy. Will definitely be back. Reasonably priced. Read more

I mean, it's Bennigan's. I go there when I'm in Melbourne for the same reason anyone not from Melbourne would: chasing 90s kid... nostalgia feels. It pays off. Even if it isn't the old wood paneled Irish pub themed place we all see when we think back onsimpler times. The Monte Cristo is there, albeit surrounded by a modern setting that begs for the light-dimmer to be turned downby half. Read more

Enjoyable lunch in a bright, clean dining area with mostly booths. My chicken tenders were cooked to perfection. The ample... portion was tasty and the fries were crisp and light. My wife had the Rubin sandwich (she didn't offer even a bite so it must'vebeen great)???? An honest letter warning about staffing and supply shortages topped the menu, however we found the servicespeedy and no shortage for anything we ordered. The prices were reasonable. My only concern was the music was too loud such thatwe were not able to hear each other at normal conversation levels. I asked the server to lower the volume and was told thatdepending on the volume levels of the next song, if it was loud, they would attempt to reduce the volume. I asked them to dobetter and they indicated they would speak to the owner; I asked to speak with the owner to make my point directly. The ownercame and we had a good conversation about the franchise requirements, including the music feed. I explained that when we eat outwe like to talk and, no matter what corporate said, he would likely get more business from us older folks if he created a morewelcoming environment. We will try Bennigans again and see if they got the message. Read more

Bennigan?s has a lot of great staff and some of the food is delicious. However there is a disconnect at times with service. I... was sat out-of-the-way by my request and no waiter had my section. I would get swarmed with waiting staff and then deserted. Themanager (Who is British, not Irish :) )apologized for the inconvenience and bought a round for the table. The host, Ari washelpful as well. My children?s food was rushed in and out which seems great but the delivery was poor, their grilled cheeseslices were not melted and the Mac and cheese which resembled Kraft was clumped together like it had not been stirred whilecooking. The Monte Cristo was a unique and tasty sandwich. The French onion was edible. The giant chocolate ice cream coveredin chocolate dessert is worth writing about and enough for 3-4 people to share. I haven't had Bennigan's in 10 years so I was ecstatic when I realized one was nearby in my travels. They have definitely... updated their look since I've been to one. The recipes took me on a wonderful trip back in time. I used to work across from aBennigan's and I would always order a half Monte Cristo sandwich and crock of baked potato soup. Today was such a joy to be ableto order the same. The portions are much bigger than I remember so I could only eat half. I also ordered the broccoli bites andthey were so good! (Might be why I got full quickly but well worth it ????) The staff was very attentive and incrediblyfriendly. I went mid-afternoon so it wasn't very busy. The food came out quickly and they refilled my drink anytime it got halffull. They have great sweet tea! The restaurant was very clean and I liked the layout. It's a much more open concept than in thepast. I did notice they were a little busy with pick up orders but that did not affect my service at all. This will now be aregular stop when I'm in the area. So Bennigan?s used to be all over the place, we used to love them in Jersey. Well, one of the dozen or so left is in FL! Since... I was driving past it, I absolutely HAD to stop. The menu has all the old favorites plus some new things on it. They are allOUTSTANDING! Everything is made from scratch in the kitchen since they don?t have a big supply chain anymore. The rueben ballsare the BEST. Service is great, the building is super modern and new. Great stop; hope they make a comeback! Read more
