The place looks nice inside. I got three items boiled, Crawfish are frozen which is expected this time of year but should be... noted on the menu. I found Red Pier on Google maps and decided to try them out. I went after the lunch rush hoping to miss the crowd. Upon... entering the place smelled fresh and very clean. There wasn't a lot of customers inside. I was seated immediately and thehostess was very polite. Being in a Cajun inspired restaurant I expected to hear some Swamp Pop or Cajun music, but all I heardwas country. The waitress was on the phone for several minutes before coming to my table so I could place my order. Once shecame and took my drink order and passed out the menu, she gave me a few minutes to decide what I wanted. I chose the 2 combomeal from the fried selection. Once the food came out I noticed the fish and shrimp were hot and had just come out of thegrease. Cajun fries are the way to go. They were crispy and soft on the inside as a fry should be. The fish tasted ok andlike the shrimp they were well breaded and tasted ok. I expected a little more salty spicy flavor in the breading but thoseflavors were not present, and me being from Louisiana, I know a little about good seasoning in the batter. Food was great. Service wasn't too bad for this area. It will be nice when they start selling alcohol. A beer would have went... great with our meal. Only complaints are having to share a crab cracker and we both had to ask for refills. We will definitelybe back though. Update 9-8-22: went again. Food was still great. Service wasn't good and the employees were arguing andcussing loudly. Never got refills. Had to share a crab cracker again even after asking for a second one. It's worth going forthe food but unfortunately the Service is just as bad as everywhere else here which is upsetting when you spend $137 on food. Weordered combo C again. Read more

Friday May 6th 2022 my family of like 25 or 28 people use their back booth in 8 there when I tell you it was wonderful,... wonderful, I have been waiting this long to go back and take my friend we ain't there today the food was old so, they took itback and brought us another order it was spoiled, I am at home sick to my stomach throwing up the atmosphere is wonderful theservice is wonderful today I just can't believe the way this turned out then they still try to charge me for a hundred andsomething dollar meal when we couldn't eat it now that I'm home sick I'm sorry I gave her the 50 that I did give her we did noteat the food this is the way it looked when we left. I am late posting my review but I had to post this! My and my husband wanted some seafood and we came across this location. From... start to finish our experience was remarkable! We were greeted before we got through the door. Seated promptly and the space wasextremely clean. The staff worked together to help one another and just had a great overall feel along with personalities. Ibelieve the young ladies name was Sonja, that took care of us. Now I’ve been in management for 20 years and this is the typeof team member you want on you staff. She was awesome and just a ray of sunshine. Went here for lunch today and the atmosphere is as phenomenal and our waitress Tameka was excellent…however I wasn’t pleased... with the food. We order gator bites as an appetizer and they were really good..didn’t get a picture of that. Originally Iwanted the Thursday special, but was told that the specials were only for specific days… however since it’s a chain of RedHook Cajun Seafood, I figured that rules would still apply, this wasn’t the case. Now here is my complaint.. we both orderedthe Weekend special which included 1/2lb of snow crab, 1/2shrimp, and 1 lobster tail, we added eggs and 1/2lb of sausage. I knowfor a fact 1 cluster of snow crab isn’t 1/2lb, the sausage was very thin, lacked taste the corn was over cooked and thelobster tail lacked taste and was overcooked. Now our waitress did ask us was everything okay and I was no but it’s okaybecause it’s not her job to make sure that the portions are right. Excellent! I'm sure they had some kinks to work out the first couple of weeks, but we went and everything was incredible. Kate... was an excellent server. Everything came out fast and fresh, so good. Some of the best fried catfish I've ever had, perfectlycrisp and not too much cornmeal. The daily combo is a great mix and we liked all the options with the house preparation. We loveSeafood Shack and Red Pier Poplar, but this one is hard to beat. Hope it's consistent! Read more
