I crowd had already gathered waiting for the doors to open & as we rounded the corner the door opened & we walked in. "Sit any... where" she said. Multiple tables already had place setting so we choose one in the back and sat down. "Oh not here this isreserved" so we moved, "Not here either" a bit annoyed, we laughed, sit anywhere, just not the places we choose. The breakfastwas great, our bill was $57, we left her a $50 tip. Stopped here because of the reviews and glad I did. Good food and plenty of it. Reasonable prices! Had a hot beef sandwich for... $11, compared to a 1/2 hot beef for $10. Good amount of beef. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. Read more
Gus & Tony's is a great place to eat in West Union. Friendly staff, great food and service. We think the roast beef and mashed... potatoes are great! The pies are also amazing! Love the ambiance inside. Large dining area. That local home cooked food feel to the place. The server was very friendly. ... Only ordered one thing off the menu, the cod and it was great. They have a poster on the wall that says, "Best gyros in town." That got my curiosity because it's the last thing I expected... from a restaurant in rural Iowa. The gyro sandwich did not disappoint. The fried pita bread sets it apart from other gyros I'vehad, and they make their own tzatziki sauce. The owner is of Greek heritage, and you can sense the pride they have in theirrestaurant.
