Super nice couple, atmosphere is terrific. U can either pick a big hotpot to share or have individual ones. Food is good !
i'm sad we had a bad experience here. we have a family who have concerns with sanitation and some of the people we were with... have low immune system. we wanted this to be the first hot pot we would ever eat together with them since we don't know how todo hot pot. so we were asking to move around sadly bec we asked for a less traffic area but they didn't know also, which made mesad seeing how our group moved from one table to another. we ended up being near the kitchen entrance :( so one of our guestsleft our group bec we were sitting in the high traffic area. so when we ordered we thought it would be lots of food but itwasn't. there were 3 of us wanting veggie options and it wasn't really that much for a very expensive payment. as a pregnantperson i was not satisfied with the amount even when i thought we paid too much already. so yeah...that was adisappointment. we also were asking so many questions and were educated just a little bit to get the orders along the way. wewent to a different place and they were giving us more understandable info on how hotpot should be done in their restaurant. imsad that the servers kept on fidgeting with our fire while we wanted a certain cooking temp with ours. they do have condementsbut it's open and shared with everyone in the restaurant. also we wanted them to not touch the rim of the water glasses sinceit's just not sanitary. it's like sucking our server's fingers basically. so we asked for new ones and she still did the sameand touched the rims of the drinks. WHY? in anycase, as a vegetarian eater it's kind of hard even if they had the creative halfn half pot. but we ordered individuals instead because we wanted to eat a lot but ended up not eating much at all. im so sadsince we come from Burnaby and crossed just to try this place. sadly we wont be coming back anytime soon since we had that sadsituation unfold. we said sorry to the restaurant servers when we left for making their lives inconvenient. for san Read more
Traffic on Marine Drive was so severely backed up that we ended up pulling off into this mall, and then chose this place for an... early dinner. Serendipity! It was fantastic. Our server was incredibly helpful, and made some great recommendations. In fact,we felt doted over all meal by the staff. It was great. We ordered half spicy with Szechuan chilies, and half pork broth. Wedid 2/3 on the chilies scale and felt we could have maxed it pretty easily. Thank you to the reviewers who suggested the AAAlevel of beef. We felt that was just right. Our favourite protein was the homemade shrimp ball. We also enjoyed the hand pullednoodles. All my visits with this place would be 5 but my latest experience was just average(I brought my parents here first time and the... service lacked that day). I would give 4.5 if that was an option. The meat quality here is unmatched for the price we pay. Wetried all tiers of their meat and would recommend their AAA beef. Best bang for your buck. Best duck. We went for the hot pot and it was great. We got two broths, hot and thai. The hot one was nice and spicy and the... Thai came with a couple of shrimps and a bit of seafood all was wonderful. All the extras we ordered were great from the ribeyesteak to different vegetables and different meats. So highly recommend the hot pot. However, what amazed us was, the duck. This was our first time having hot pot here and we were really pleased with the quality of the food, as well as the amazing... service. The manager Casey walked us through the entire menu and gave great suggestions which were really helpful. They alsoadded in a complimentary green onion cake!
