My boyfriend & I celebrated a night away, a staycation of sorts to Westerly, Rhode Island. Ella’s was a place we found online... and we were impressed by their menu. Once we got to the restaurant, we were already impressed with how their team greeted us andmade us felt welcome. Our waiter was so professional and sweet. He made incredible recommendations. Ella’s food and staff were spectacular! James especially made it a wonderful experience. I simply cannot state enough how much... I recommend this fine dining establishment. My party got the calamari, rigatonicini, duck frites, crème brûlée, and thedecadent chocolate cake. If you are in Westerly, you have to check out Ella’s!!! Read more
I have dined at every restaurant in Westerly and this is the best. In fact you can expand that area from Providence to New... London and still call it the best. This is no bargain eaters delight. This is high quality food that is discriminately soughtout and selected. The detail is down to the garnish. No store bought micro greens here. The portions are appropriate for thefabulous rich food they serve. Everything cooked to perfection. Scallops, calamari, and veal chop are on so many menus but areoften low quality or over or under cooked. I had all three here and I cannot over use the word perfection. It was a busy nightyet a calm atmosphere was abound. When I go out I am looking to enjoy 3 things, enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere, exquisitelibations, and food that is both pleasing to the eye and the pallet. Had not been here since before Pandemic. The staff is attentive and nice atmosphere but food was awful. Very poor quality meat... for what was charged. Veal Chop was tough and so was Strip Steak. Both wife and I got quite a workout trying to cut ourdinners. Disappointed and not likely to go back. Read more
Outstanding food! Delicious and perfectly prepared and artistically presented.. quality was at or above any 5 star restaurant I... have experienced in any large city ( Boston, NYC, Chicago, Denver, SF). Generous portions and exceptional service! Therestaurant was very clean and very nicely decorated. The owners obviously care about their restaurant, their customers, andtheir staff and it showed. The staff was pleasant and attentive all while being very busy tending to their busy dining room. I’ll be back! Best dining experience ever. Read more
Tucked away in an unassuming low-looking building on the outside is Ella's. Inside is a gorgeous space befitting the best... guests. Service is warm and friendly, treating you very well and attentive, perfectly timed. I asked for a special request andthey accommodated and then some. I was impressed by their polish and thoughtfulness to the entire experience. Each drink isunique and well-crafted, as is each menu selection we ordered. Calamari - a staple in Rhode Island, was originally prepared anddone to perfection.... a rarity as most places generally overcook them. Meals were scallops and a fillet. Again, originalpreparations and perfectly served to temp with impressive flavors. Dessert - a special Black Forest Cake was exceptionallyflavored, moist and artfully plated. Absolutely amazing! Every dish we had was just exquisite. The flavors were unique and unlike anything we've tried before. The... portions were also a great size and we left very full! We will definitely be returning to Ella's. Read more
Dinner at Ella’s was good but it wasn’t amazing as I was led to believe. We had reservations but our table wasn’t ready so... we shuffled to the bar where we we’re forgotten about for far too long. This theme continues for the entire dinner. Onceseated we weren’t approached by anyone for over ten minutes. I asked our waitress for recommendations and said the chef wasknown for her duck. We basically let her choose our meal for us as I often like to do as they should know the food better thananyone. Everything was good, but nothing was amazing. Again we were left waiting for the check at the meals end. The food wasfour stars, service was two at best but the bar tender was good. Maybe if you go, skip the reservations and have dinner at thebar. Read more
