I've had most of the things on the menu and they are good, but the best thing about "The Green Canteen" is the staff, and they... only get better as they get to know you. TLDR: Go for the clams if anything. Avoid the chowder. Was on the fence about going here due to the mixed reviews. I should... have stayed on the other side of the fence. We ordered fried clams & fries, seafood chowder, the classic hamburger, and alobster roll for takeout. The fried clams were probably the best part of the meal, we were given a large serving and theyweren?t as greasy as I was expecting they would be. The burger was good. The lobster roll was okay, but I had better in Shediac,NB at a fast food restaurant. Now the seafood chowder was the biggest disappointment. I have eaten better seafood chowder out ofa can. This one was watery, the seafood inside consisted mostly of fish pieces and maybe one half scallop. I swear I have hadbetter chowder out of a can. I couldn?t even finish mine and I usually finish my food. Salt and pepper couldn?t even save it. Igave two stars because the clams were good and the service was fast and friendly. The view is absolutely gorgeous. We werecontemplating getting ice-cream later but I didn?t feel like spending any more money at this establishment. It's hot inside even with air conditioning going. It's small and not suited to the volume of customers it's receiving (local... resort has no food options available). Everything was still saturated in oil and not dried off properly. Despite arriving as itwas ready our mozza sticks weren't hot at all.. If that wasn't the only place in walking distance to eat we would avoid at allcosts. Read more
I've been here a few times over the years and it's not a bad spot to eat at all and has diner type seafood options which are at... least equal to any other place in the area. It is old but clean and has a nice view of the bay. Having the bakery there is niceas well to get some treats for the drive home. Read more
This local diner near the shore was a happening spot on a Saturday after 1:30. They were out of scallops but we saw why because... the portion size was HUGE. I got a bowl of seafood chowder and it was delicious! Read more

Amazing, no frills or nonsense family food and service. Two things that stopped me from adding that last star: I'm always... annoyed when I see a large additional cost for salad rather than fries ($3), a small side salad would have been a finesubstitution, and the dining room is very small, but such a great view! Filling to bread ratio for the lobster roll is way off. You end up tasting nothing but the bread. Cole slaw was pretty tasty.... Smothered fries only so so. Read more
