We had such a lovely dining experience our first time at Vie. We ordered from the prix fixe menu and made sure to pick different... choices for each course so we could try as much as possible. Each course was incredibly thoughtful with artful plating.Theflavors were unexpected, but all worked beautifully together. The gnocchi was especially memorable and delicious. We lovedhaving the fresh bread brought to the table between courses. We ordered the Gooey Butter cake for dessert and every element ofthat dish was divine. We ordered drinks and were especially impressed with the Cosmo and the 3PBO, which were both delicious. The service was also spectacular. Our server was helpful in answering our questions, our plates were cleared almost immediatelyupon finishing a course, our water glasses were always full, and the hostess even went outside to take a photo for us. Overall agreat experience and looking forward to another future visit. Read more

We came in specifically for the burgers this time, and we were not disappointed. The cheese curds are amazing (BEER JAM!), and... that shrimp dip… delicious. Only bartenders who have ever made Malort palatable, in the Devil in the White City cocktail. Sogood. Read more

We have been planning to visit Vie for years. Somehow it was not always `on the way` for us but now I can only regret the... hesitation. The restaurant welcome you with great downtown vibes and vibrant smell of smoked food, for which Chef Paul Virant isfamous for. We obviously get the reservation ahead of time but I saw some sitting options at the bar and was wondering if theymay be first come first serve basis. The seating at Vie reminded me of famous Blackbird only bigger. Our server went throughmenu with is which consist prix fixe of three courses. Each course has few options to choose from as well so there is somethingfor everyone`s taste. We took wine pairing with the courses as well which was an excellent idea. Pairings were perfect to eachcourse we took so I highly recommend going that way. FIRSTS: Warm Roasted sunchoke salad--very vibrant, well composed with akick from ham hock. Pan-roasted cotechino sausage--served with lentils and mustard greens. Very good start for a firstcourse. SECONDS: Crispy Leek Risotto cake--that was a blast. So flavorful finished with elegant mornay sauce. Seascallops-very refreshing dish. Honey thyme butter with apples was an ideal combination for this kind ofseafood. THIRDS: Sirloin au poivre--a french classic, very delicious. Good quality of meat with perfect sauce. Nothing to bepicky about. Bourbon Red Turkey--this course was very good, however it was like typical thanksgiving plate entirely. Expectedsomething a little bit off that way but still very delish. We left Vie with very pleasant feeling and good taste. Restaurantuses only local ingredients from local farmers which is fabulous idea which always translates to the dishes itself. Definitelywishing to try more dishes from Vie and Chef Paul Virant. Read more

This is an incredible gem of a restaurant. From when we entered to the moment we walked out, we were smiling at the ambiance,... service and food. The pictures don’t do justice. The Walleye fish came with an amazing tomato broth..so comforting. Deviledeggs, scallops, 3PBO cocktail and the desserts were all incredible. Will go back and strongly recommend others to go. We alsomet Paul (owner) and loved talking to him. Just a fulfilling experience. Read more
