We enjoyed by birthday lunch at hook and reel.First timers ?? We ordered hush puppies as an appetizer, they where delightful.... Both my husband ordered the seafood boil. Shrimp, mussels, sausage and broccoli. They and bibs HINT: they have gloves to wearkeep them fingers clean. Turns out if it?s your birthday for get a free boil!!! That was a wonderful surprise. I was excited to eat here, I love seafood boils. I ordered a boil and everything inside was pretty soggy. They bring it to you... in a sealed up plastic bag while it's still piping hot, with the liquids all settled at the bottom, so it made everything soggyand with unappealing textures and REALLY messy to eat. Their seasoning blend was soooo salty, it really ruined the dish. Theservice was good and our server was friendly, considering we had a large group. That's really the only reason for twostars. This place is also extremely expensive. I understand that seafood is always more costly, but I ended up paying $100+ foran appetizer, a drink, and one boil that I shared with someone else. The food here was beyond amazing. We normally go to joes for a crab dinner but we tried this place for Father?s Day, and it was... well worth it. 1st time and I think last time going to eat there. We had the calamari appetizer and 2 seafood boils. Not sure if the shrimp was... cooked properly. Had a strange taste and would not come out of the shells. Lobster tail was the same way. Sat in the bar area.Our waitress that took our order and was Non Existent after that, even after we got our food. Did not give us anything to putour shells in. Never came around to take things off the table even though it was piling up. Was only given 3 napkins and shenever came to see if we needed fresh ones. Then we sat and continued to listen to some wait staff sitting at the back wallcomplaining about work. Went to @hookandreelwestminster for lunch. It was really good and the server was very friendly and attentive. I had the Cajun... Boil [1/2lb crawfish 1/2lb black mussels, 1/2lb head off shrimp, 1 corn, 2 new potatoes] with the mild original Cajun sauce andI added 1/2lb sausage. Everything was really good. My mom, aunt, and I went here for an early dinner on a Monday night. We were seated promptly and the staff was nice. Our waiter... was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. Among our table we had mozzarella sticks, coconut shrimp, fried shrimp,Cajun fries, oysters with spicy seasoned garlic butter, fried lobster with lobster bisque, and a garlic butter boil with shrimp& crab. Everything we tasted was hot and fresh. The flavors and spices were quite yummy! One issue I?d like point out wasbathroom cleanliness was lacking. Everything else was great.
