We always love our visits to Weston! Avalon Cafe was a wonderful choice for lunch. We tried the linguini & fresh seafood, chili... soup, and cajun shrimp & sausage pizza, all were delicious! Our server was very friendly, we had a lovely view of main streetfrom our table, highly recommend. Read more

We arrived at 11am as they were opening, and seated in a dim corner of the room which was lit only by a central chandelier. I?m... not sure why we were given that table, but I should have asked for one of the more desirable at the electric fireplace or one ofthe three windows. It was dim enough that I took it upon myself to open all the blinds. The waitress was efficient andknowledgeable. I ordered a bowl of the gumbo and my friend ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, subbing out vegetables for thestandard choices of potatoes or pasta salad, for an additional $1. When it arrived she was pleased to see that there was also agenerous fresh fruit garnish. She really liked the chicken and marveled at its moistness. She totally cleaned her plate ofeverything, except the bun, due to diet constraints. My gumbo was good, with more than adequate portions of protein. Thebread/butter plate was delicious! One previous reviewer commented on the taste of the water but we both thought it wasperfectly palatable, and had several refills. As I was leaving I saw another woman turning on her phone flashlight to read hermenu. The food was good, just increase the wattage. Read more

Well we went here for an anniversary dinner and were disappointed on several levels. Our waiter was busy so he basically blew us... off the whole time we were there. Very little contact with him. I had a Weston trio and my wife had a Kansas City strip. Thefood was pretty good. The tuna steak and the chicken were both lukewarm at best. Our appetizer was crab cakes which came out 10minutes after our entrees. For the prices that they charge you you would think they would do better all the way around. Read more

We had a great lunch on their covered patio. The view of Weston and the valley was spectacular. The chef bakes his own bread, so... do not pass it up. I had the BLT on a croissant for lunch. The tomatoes tasted just like they were picked off the vine beforebeing added to my freshly baked croissant. The pasta salad was lightly dressed and a perfect complement to the BLT. The staffwas friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I will make time for lunch or dinner here during future visits. Read more

We stopped here on a Thursday evening for dinner. The atmosphere was quaint and classy and we were treated well by the staff.... This was our first visit here and another customer we met coming in told us to try the flan or the bread pudding because theywere both amazing. The service was fast. We had our drinks, salad and warm bread with whipped butter right away. I ordered theChef's daily feature which was a cajun seasoned grouper with house vegetables and potatoes. I know Missouri is not exactly whereyou may expect to have fresh grouper on the menu, but my worries melted away after my first delicious fork full of the tender, moist and perfectly prepared fish! The cinnamon bread pudding was ridiculously delicious. I am glad they served it with a bigspoon so I could make sure none of the rich, sweet and warm goodness couldn't escape. We will be back! The food was excellent! The staff were super nice. The only downside was the tap water. It was horrendous. It's a small town, so... perhaps having filtered water would help. The only other option is choosing a different beverage or paying for bottledwater. The waitress was very accommodating about this. Very romantic atmosphere for couples, and even gathering with others.I'd certainly go back. They are very expensive but they also have affordable options for more usual l traditional "bar food." Very diversified menu. They had starters, various sandwiches, a few seafood items, pizza, and hamburgers. Apricot iced tea which... was amazing. Atmosphere was perfect. Older home converted into a cafe. They do have a tiny bar inside and seating outside on acovered deck. The food was very fresh. The tomatoes are farm fresh. Had the Apple tort for dessert which was wonderful. We willdefinitely eat here again anytime we're in Weston. The chicken sandwich was amazing. Lots of thought love and care put into thisfood.
