Reviews for Mrs. London's Bakery & Cafè in Westport, CT

I had high hopes for this cute bakery in Westport... unfortunately the food did not meet those expectations. I've never... experienced such a stale hard baguette in my life. It tasted like it was weeks old. I also tried the almond croissant and it wasStarbucks quality.. definitely not fresh. My suggestion for the owner and chef is to take their profits from this place andactually travel to France and try the train station food there, which surpasses their bakery quality by a long shot. After talking to the waiter and main chef about a nut allergy, the restaurant added whole pistachios to my husband?s meal. This... sent us to the hospital. The owner claimed that they don?t cover hospital bills because of allergy cross contamination. This wasnot cross contamination when they put whole pistachios in the meal. They should?ve taken ownership of their mistake. Read more

FANTASTIC! This is just the kind of place the town of Westport needed on Main Street. This place raises the standards. The chef... is beyond brilliant. Our first time there we were greeted with smiling faces and employees clearly proud and happy to work atMrs. London's. We only had drinks and a chocolate croissant. My first thought was $5 seemed a bit much for a chocolatecroissant, but then I ate it. I was instantly brought back to Paris in a flash of memories that seem all too distant as wehaven't traveled to Europe since before COVID. It was easily one of the best chocolate croissants I've ever had: the outsideflaky and since it was warm out, the chocolate was slightly melted which created deliciousness in my mouth. The second time wevisited we dove into the menu, we had: smoked chicken hash, cheese and mushroom omelet, grapefruit brûlée, chocolatecroissant, coffee, and chai latte. The chicken hash was phenomenal! SO flavorful! Somehow the cheese and mushroom omelet thoughsimple was also prepared to be tastier than any other omelet I've had (the mushrooms were clearly cooked prior to throwing themin the omelet which is how it should be done but rarely is). The show stopper: Grapefruit brûlée, just brilliant. Three piecesof grapefruit are brûléed which adds a caramelized sweet crunch to each bite, the entire plate is sprinkled in small flowerpetals which add just the right amount of delicate floral sensation which I can only describe as a touch of perfume for yourmouth. This place is my new go to and I honestly haven't tasted this amount of creativity and flavor in a very long time. Mymouth is watering just thinking of my next visit... Read more

Had breakfast there. The blue corn pancakes and the chicken sausage. They they may be the best blue corn pancakes I?ve ever had.... They were light and crispy but also moist and you could really taste the blue corn. Their coffee isn?t my style but willdefinitely go back to try other dishes. Read more
