Service was mixed, the hostess wouldn't seat our group(6 people) till at least half our party was there. It was supposed to be a... surprise birthday dinner. Finally able to get back in after a year of trying on and off when we are in the area. Our server was Kristen, and she was... incredible! Both times we have been here the service has been amazing! The sushi being the best we’ve found from here to leessummit is a plus, but bad service can ruin even the best food. There’s usually an extremely long wait so I’d HIGHLY suggestmaking a reservation, but it is worth it if you have the time. Spanish fly- spicy and delicious, texture is perfect and it wasas cold as you’d expect. Nothing worse than room temp when it’s supposed to be cold. Rainbow roll- what you’d expect, ifyou like them you like them. It was very good! Cloud nine 2.0- it was our cooked roll and was very good. Had a softer texturethan the others and in the future I’d probably not ordered them together just because I like to go back and forth and didn’treally like the change in temps, but that has nothing to do with how good it was. This is absolutely the best sushi and sashimi you can find PERIOD. Quality of food combined with exceptional service and super... cool decor makes this my new favorite. Ian is one of the best servers we've ever had and that includes the Michelin starrestaurants we've been to. This guy is just so attentive and curious about what others like that is recommendations just hitthe mark. Just ask for Ian and what his top five dishes are. Oh the drink menu is off the charts. The owners of this groupget it and we'll be nationwide. I have to mention the speed of service and attentiveness again. One of my daughters told me that Blue Sushi (????) is her favorite Sushi restaurant in Kansas City. We met some friends at the... restaurant for an early Sunday dinner. I love good sushi, but I was not prepared for the next level deliciousness that assaultedmy taste buds! If you like spicy food, like I do, definitely order the Shishito Peppers. We devoured two plates of them. TheYellowtail Serrano was also spicy and delicious, however the Sashimi (??) slices were very thin and after two orders of them Iwas left wanting more. If sweet is more your style, try the Mango Crab Rangoon. My 6-year-old daughter ate an entire order onher own. My favorite Specialty Nigiri (?? ??) was the Cherry Bomb. The Roja from the Raw Sushi was also quite delicious. Myfavorite Raw Sushi (???) was the Hot Popper. Both we and our friends agreed this was a favorite. We also tried the NegiYellowtail as Yellowtail (???) is typically my favorite for fish for Sushi. We tried a couple of their cocktails, but wouldprobably not order cocktails again at a future visit. They were unique, but not equal to the high quality of the sushi. Sincewe ate an early dinner, the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived and our service was great. As we left, I noticed therestaurant filled quite quickly, which did not surprise me in the least. Overall, I have to agree with my daughter that BlueSushi is the best sushi in Kansas City. I will definitely order the Shishito Peppers, Cherry Bomb, and Hot Popper and mostlikely two orders of each. Read more
I had a great dining experience yesterday, and got to try so many different sushi rolls. Everything tasted fresh and the rolls... were very flavorful. We tried out the restaurant week menu and we had dozens of options to choose from, the value was also verygreat for the lunch price. Our server Ricky made us feel very welcome, and helped us in our picks. He was very attentive andgave great service. Will definitely be back to try some of the other sushi rolls, the only thing I noticed was that this placedidn’t serve sashimi, as it wasn’t on the regular menu. and that is usually my go-to dish in sushi restaurants. My husband and I have spent so much money at Blue, you won’t even believe it. We came here for the first time on Valentine’s... Day 3 years ago. It continues to be our favorite date night and happy hour Sunday spot.
