It all started at the valet who said we get our parking validated at the chalet but so far so good. All 11 of us get to the... chalet expecting a table of 5 and a table for 6 like we were told over the phone. When we get there we could not validate ourparking like the valet said, it has to be at the hotel. No biggie, but it would be nice if staff actually knew how thingsworked at the hotel. Then we were told that we have 2 tables of 4 and a table for 3. If we’d known this we would havecancelled. Then we sit down because if we go somewhere else no one would have availability for our group of 11. The $150 winethat was reccomended to us was absolutely gross as it was a young $28 bottle of wine. So we ordered a mediocre mission hills. I ordered a beer. They’re wine selection was really limited and really overpriced. We had the 3 course cheese fondue. TheFrench onion soup was really good. Then came the cheese fondue 1.5 hrs after we sat down ( the restaurant wasn’t full). Andwe received a big bowl of bread, some pickles and olive, a small portion of veggies and some thinly sliced rib eye for twopeople that wasn’t even 10 once’s. As everyone at the table got the fondue, we all looked at each other in absolute shockon how little meat was supplied. The chocolate fondue came at the 2.5 hr mark and was good but nothing great. Not once did thewaitress ask to fill anyones glass of wine nor ask me if I wanted something else to drink after my initial beer I ordered. Atthe 3 hr mark when we were asking for our cheque the waitress asked if we wanted a shuttle back to the hotel, to which we saidyes. She replied that she would get the big shuttle for us. She took so long to finish everything and after paying the bill wefinally waited by the front doors for the shuttle and this extremely rude shuttle driver said to us in a rude and angry voicethat we’ve missed the big shuttle bus because we took so long and now we’re going to have to deal with two shuttles. Disappointing experience for a restaurant associated with one of the top hotel chains in the world. The service was great and... was the only great thing about The Chalet. We had a charcuterie board, tartflette and onion soup to start. The tartiflette wasvery oily and didn’t taste like a tartiflette. The charcuterie board was composed of the the cheapest meats and the goal wasto make it cheap. The fondue was our main and we added the garlic and herbs for additional flavour and taste. We were verydisappointed by the lack of taste this fondue had. It tasted like something was added to the cheese. It tasted like eating gooeyflour. To conclude. I will not go back and won’t recommend anyone to go either. The quality isn’t nearly worth the pricethey charge. Read more

Exquisite cuisine, exceptional service, and one of the most unique dining experiences in the Sea-to-Sky region (including... Vancouver). We were greeted at the door by the manager, who offered to take our coats. Our server was friendly, professional, and attentive — but not overly so. And we were even visited by the chef herself, who wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourmeal. Were we ever. From the delicious cocktails, to the tantalizing appetizers; seemingly bottomless pot of mouth-wateringfondue; crispy, melt-in-your-mouth schnitzel; and perfectly cooked veggies, everything we ordered was packed full of flavour, hearty, and satisfying. As if that wasn’t enough, the icing on the cake was an indulgent dessert and a local eau de vie to capit off. Suffice it to say, nobody left hungry. But we all left happy… and looking forward to the next visit. Read more

When we first got there we didn't know where to park the car as the parking area is not illuminated. Be ready to have fondue as... there are not many other course options. Beef fondue was pretty small, if you plan to order just that one make sure to getappetizers. We were positively surprised by the broth the beef is cooked in being used to other more European fondue styles. Weliked better the regular cheese fondue to the truffle flavored cheese fondue. The truffle flavor only lasted for a few minutes, and after the first layer of cheese was gone it didn't taste much. The cheese is very soft, do not expect strong flavors.Pickles were a nice addition. The chocolate fondue is big and tasty. However, it's milk chocolate and might be too sweet forsome people. The service was very good and helpful. Overall, if you are looking for a fancier restaurant, and are fine withspending some extra dollars, this is a good restaurant to visit. Read more

Awesome atmosphere, great experience and service! We had our anniversery dinner here, but could have easily taken the kids here... for some upscale fondue... Again, the service is top notch and very accommodating. I couldn't recommend a more friendly place. Read more

Delicious fondue, impeccable service and an atmosphere that is fancy yet cozy. This place is incredible at dealing with any... allergies. They will ask you as you walk in if anyone has any allergies, and are able to give great suggestions as well aschanging your dish appropriately to accomodate you. Read more

The restaurant was mostly empty, pretty quiet. Wine selection was not so great, and the waitress didn’t seem to know much... about pairing. The wine we ended up taking was ok, but smelt weird. Service was otherwise good. We had the cheese fondue withgarlic. The cheese was not great: fondue is supposed to be a mix of Emmental, Appenzeller, and Beaufort; not just Emmental. Interms of quantity, the bread and pickles are bottomless, but there was not enough cheese for 3 (what we had would be ok for 2),and I’m not usually a big eater. Speaking of bread, the baguette was subpar. Not what I would expect for this kind ofrestaurant, even in North America. Garlic was very good, but note that the fondue will come stuffed with tens of whole garliccloves if you take the garlic option. I liked it, but be aware that it will be more than an aftertaste. My other friend whodidn’t take the fondue said his food was pretty good. Desert menu was a bit shy, and didn’t have much explanations (Germannames didn’t help). But the deserts were pretty good. Parking was a bit confusing. Read more
