I went to Butchie's in December 2019 on my way to a high school reunion. I saw them on the Food Network and wanted to check it... out. The location has had many different restaurants and normally was a coffee shop. The menu has several items to choose fromand if you like southern BBQ, smoked or buttermilk style chicken, then you will love this place. They also offer some greatcraft beers to add to the great taste. I enjoyed their smoked chicken wings. They were quite large and cooked perfectly. First time here. Drove all the way from Mount Hope. We had American family visiting and I wanted to explore a new place with... them. I had the chicken wings with the Alabama sauce and sides of devilled eggs, green beans and coleslaw. As frequenttravellers, we like to try coleslaw everywhere we go. My husband had a fried chicken sandwich that had potato chips on it, andone side of Mac and cheese. Our nephew and niece had a BHG, which is a salad, large and colourful. I want to say I loved themeal but I did not. Although the wings were super crunchy, they lacked flavour. The sauce I picked was bland and slimy. Mydevilled eggs were ok, nothing special and the beans, ok, coleslaw...blah. I would say the whole meal lacked flavour, butamazing crunch on the wings, I just wish they were seasoned more or the sauce helped. There was salt visible on the wings. Myhusband said his sandwich was ok and our guests ate all of their food. I didn't hear any moaning similar to when you get areally good meal. It was a nice drive there, once. We ordered pick up from Butchies for Fathers Day lunch. Although pre ordering the wait was a while but, we understand that... holidays can be hectic for sure. We ordered an assortment of meals, country fried steak, chicken tenders, salmon, Mac andcheese, Nashville chicken sandwich, fries, yam fries, cucumber salad. The salmon was very dry and not much flavourunfortunately, chicken tenders were pretty overdone but otherwise, you could say it was a decent meal. Probably won’t be in arush to go back .. however, it was OK if you’re looking for something different to try (and I see other reviewers have reallyenjoyed things so maybe volume got the best of them today. Such a shame…. This place was insanely delicious when it opened. I ate there at least once a month, prob more. I had it about... 3/4 months ago and was not impressed at all but gave it another go today because the memories of what was were taunting me. Itwon’t happen again. 2 stars because the side dishes were ALMOST consistent to what they once were. The hush puppies got toosalty and I love salt and I liked when they were just salty enough. The meat is horrible. The smell of it is even off. The ownerneeds to check back in on her restaurant because it’s gone down hill big time and there are high expectations when a celebritychef owns and associates themselves with a restaurant. Read more
Great food. I had the chicken fingers, fries, and the revelatory cucumber salad. I can't believe this place has been sitting... under my nose for nearly 10 years. Must try! It will become a favorite. Read more
Meat + 3 at its finest. Super helpful and polite staff. The food was exceptional. I had the country fried steak and my wife... had the pork shoulder. The Brussel sprouts l, when in season, are a must have. The sides were all great and made us want to comeback to try all the others! My wife went back the next weekend with her girlfriends and they were equally impressed. Read more
First time going here after hearing great things about it! Boy oh boy did Butchie's love up to their reputation. I had the... Pimento Cheese Chicken sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese... Well yum doesn't quite cover it. My husband had a butcher burgerand fries and LOVED it! Kept saying they were the best fries (and that's after we sat in traffic for 20 minutes so we could eatat home)!!! Read more
We stopped off here to see if it would be suitable for our group of six to come. The food was great and hot, beverages were... cold. We got a good portion for our money. The staff were friendly and helpful, they even brought our order to our table.Washrooms are clean and well maintained as the restaurant was. They have a large outdoor eating area and two large pieces ofland the family can enjoy. Read more
