A couple years ago I posted how disappointed I was with Whiskey Johns. We gave them another chance last night and I?m really... glad we did. Mike was working and was incredibly friendly. We were greeted right away with a warm friendly demeanour. When askedfor menu suggestions we received options in each area of the menu. The food did not disappoint. Deep fried pickles were delishand the portions generous. Dill dip outstanding. Balsamic chicken was to die for. It arrived quickly and was hot and againgenerous portions. Brought half home with me. The price was very reasonable especially considering the increase in foodprices. Overall loved it! So glad we gave it another chance. Thanks Mike!! Read more
Just had dinner at Whisky John's in Brooklin. Mike took care of us from start to finish. He took the time to go over all the... best items on the menu, gave recommendations and options. The portions were a really good size and all our food was delicious.The highlight of the whole thing was Mike. He was fun and friendly and made us feel like we were the only people here. Not complaining just explaining for those that are like me and see "power bowl" and think it's healthy and order without reading... it entirely. Chicken Kaarage Power Bowl: "Kaarage" is a Japanese cooking term for deep fried in oil. The chicken and theavocado were breaded and cooked in oil. Again, didn't read the menu until after it was served in an effort to determine "whatis this ...?". If I did pay more attention, I would have discovered it was labelled as "crispy chicken" and "crispy avocado";meaning, it was deep fried which is something I have been trying to avoid of late. The menu implied there were "eggs" (plural). There was one. It also said there was a roasted corn drizzle on it. I did not see corn, it was more of a relish or salsa. IfI knew I was going to blow the calorie count with this breaded deep fried items, I would have just went straight to thedessert. Service was excellent, as always. Read more
Food was pretty good and was looking forward to the wings until we realized they tasted ?fishy?. It is quite clear they are... frying their wings in the same deep fryer and oil as their fish products. This completely ruined the experience. I also noticedanother review said the same thing a couple months ago. I am surprised this was never rectified. Read more
A MUST try... Cod dinner with a creamy lemon sauce on a bed of rice with a side greek salad for only 14.99!! To die for....... hands down one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. The chefs name was Dinesh and he did an incredible job WOW Read more
Tried out Whisky John's in Brooklin tonight and I'm so glad I did. I had called ahead to see if they had a table for 7 with 3... kids and they said yes. When we got there they had just filled the restaurant. Said it wouldn't be long(10-15 minutes) we had noproblem waiting. They said it was the busiest they have been since they were allowed dine in. Mike was our server (he's also themanager). He was super kind and welcoming. Our apps and main meals came fast. He was attentive even though they were busy. Lotsof tvs, great atmosphere. The alcoholic drink menu was great! We ordered calamari, french onion soup and small Greek salad tostart. I've got to say, everything tasted amazing!!! The Greek salad is the best I've ever had. The kids loved the calamari. Ihad the spinach dip with chips and pita it was so creamy and everything was so fresh. Also pictured is the lemon pepper shrimp,pulled pork poutine and the spinach dip. All staff were kind! Mike was very nice to the kids and thanked them for handing himthe plates. We will definitely be back to try other dishes!! Thanks Mike for a great first impression. Read more
We discovered this restaurant recently and enjoyed excellent meals. We ordered Cob Salad and Thai Chicken Wrap- both very tasty,... well prepared with fresh ingredients and more than adequate portions.
