Best fast food restaurant in Canada. Not just the beat A&W. The best fast food restaurant in Canada. I look forward to stopping... here qhen I travel up north. Always hot fresh food. No matter what time. Palatable coffee, which is admirable on that trek. Thefriendliest people you'll ever meet (I'm writting this with at least a 10 year gap from my first visit to my last). I don'treview fast food places often because it's not the restaurant or even the people that makes an experience there are soanyvariables with fast food. Not the standard A&W experience. Strong air freshener smell when you walk in. Bug catcher mounted on the wall, door to the... kitchen dirty, bathroom in poor condition (very hot, 2 soap dispensers empty, no mirror, graffiti on garbage can). Food wasokay. Service was friendly and quick. Rootbeer seemed flat, served in a room temperature mug instead of the signature frostedmug. Surprised Corporate allows this location operate in its current state. Nice place to pass by on a road trip. Gas is fairly cheaper than Thunder bay. Its beside a gas station. So its fairly busy. The... food came quickly and was hot. The cashier knew his stuff and when asked if ordering this way is cheaper. He would tell you whatworks out to be the cheapest. Read more
Took cashier/server literally 5-10 mins to get my drink for me that he forgot to give me. I had to remind him twice that I was... still waiting for my drink. He served other customers while I was waiting for my drink and he took off in the back and startedcooking he didn?t even wash his hands. Bugs were flying around where they were cooking in the back and where they were servingdrinks. Floors were dirty and it was very hot waiting for order. Service was terrible and tables and floors were dirty Iwouldn?t even go there if the kids didn?t like the chicken. Plus manager was rude, I asked if they serve the whistle dog he saidno we don?t serve, in a very rude way. They just make you feel very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Just saying I don?t know ifthere was different owners in the spring they were very nice and welcoming, but the new management and workers are horrendous,terrible. Read more
I have been craving a root beer float! Finally stopped here to get one. It was horrible. No more than a half a scoop of ice milk... and then root beer. Takes a little more to make a root beer float! Will not return and actually thinking twice about A&W rootbeer in Canada. Read more
You sort of assume chains will be consistent, but this location is noticeably worse than others I've been to. The food wasn't... cooked well, everything seemed rushed. Worse, the location is filthy. Like, I go to bad downtown locations and this still seemsfilthy. The bathrooms were dirty and broken, the restaurant was full of flies. All the tables were dirty. The staff served dinein food in takeout bags, seemingly to avoid cleaning trays? I went a few times during the time I was in town and it was ALWAYSbusy so they have money to keep it up. Ordered an uncle burger combo and was asked if I wanted cheese. I asked if the uncle burger comes with cheese since burgers that... don't come with cheese have the option for cheese stated on the menu at an extra cost. I told them I wanted the cheese but onlyif the uncle burger comes with it. I waited for my burger while 4 other orders went out. In the span of 15 minutes these 4orders were all done incorrectly. Each of the 4 orders were done incorrectly. One was missing fries, one was missing a coffee,and the other 2 were incorrect items other than what was ordered. I then checked my receipt and realized that I was charged forcheese when it is included on the uncle burger. Also when I asked for dine in they handed me my order in a takeout bag with mydrink. I asked them if I could have a tray and only then was one produced. Double check your orders at this location because thestaff seem distracted and unattentive. Overall poor service. Read more
Burger was sloppily put together and not very hot, onion rings were terrible - a couple of hot ones on top of room temperature... previously over-cooked rings. These seems to be the standard now at A&W to mix a couple fresh rings with ones that were sittingaround for too long. The "new" franchise owners do notcare about food quality or cleanliness of the restaurant. Our table wasgross so we washed it ourselves (looked like the owner was too busy counting piles of cash next to the till to bother withcustomers. I will NEVER visit an A&W again. Read more
