We went here for my birthday expecting a routine steak dinner. It couldn’t be further from routine. The manager who served us... knew our names and treated each interaction like it was the most important thing going on in his life. The drinks werespectacular and innovative. I could not recommend the old fashion enough. It was fantastic! The steaks were flavorful andperfectly cooked! It has been a while since I have been to Onyx and I am delighted that they continue to provide an exceptional dining... experience. It's a rare experience where our sever, who was also the manager in this case, made a specific person to learneveryones name at the table and address them as such. The food came quickly and with appetizers, in a sequence that made senseand there was not a dead spot during our dining time that we did not have something great to eat. The steak was cooked just theway I like it and all the appetizers were extremely delicious - The stuffed onion rings being a particular highlight. It can meon the more premium side when it comes to price, but that price brings with it an attention to detail and a higher qualitydining experience than you are going to get at many places. My husband and I randomly stopped here while we were on our way back from Vancouver and we were happily greeted and taken care... of. We had the Wagyu Striploin and the Filet Mignon with Crab Mac & Cheese and Gorgonzola Mashed Potatoes and all I can say isWOW. Everything was excellently prepared to our specifications and rivalved other steakhouses we have been to. If we are everpassing through White Rock we will definitely stop here again. Read more
pro: -staff is really nice -clean and sleek atmosphere con: -no ac -ordered 64oz tomahawk steak, alaskan king crab leg, lobster... mac&cheese, beef carpaccio, steak fries, mussels, and ceasers salad.. all were bland -the 64oz tomahawk does not look 64oz, ihave ordered 48oz else where and it is bigger -some items on the menu must order 24 hours in advance such as lobster i rarelydo reviews but i recommend not to come here. could be a bad day which they said the main chef was off sick and had areplacement, but still, not an excuse, especially when the bill is large. nice people though, just makes the review much harder Read more
First time Onyx tonight with my partner for date night and it did not disappoint. The prime rib was ???????? and same with the... maple bacon cheesecake. My partner had the ahi tuna which was also on point. Will definitely go back to try other steaks.Great experience with the service as well ???? Read more
Looking to try something new when i stumbled upon Onyx, their table side tomahawk piqued my interest. Finally got a date that... worked for all of us. Was really looking forward to their tomahawk. The Good: The servers were amazing and attentive (ourwaters/pop were always filled), food came quick, the drinks were good, the vibe was ok The Bad: The Tomahawk was never cuttableside which was what we were looking forward to and why we came here. The steak itself was ok, that rub that they use was onthe sweeter side which took away from the steak flavour. Also for a 64 oz., it seems like we didn't get that much, compared toAltas Steak + Fish, their 48oz bone in tomahawk had more meat and more delicious and less grizzle/fat. The sides were just ok,nothing special about them, though we did like the brussels sprouts the best. The lobster mac and cheese, i don't know if theyforgot the lobster but i didn't notice it having any. For the price that we paid, we didnt feel "full" at all. We would havebeen better off going to The Keg. If we wanted to go "fancy" we would have been better off going to Gotham Steak House. In factafter this we ended up getting more food somewhere else for a lot less and we had more fun and was actually full. Fabulous Service, wonderful atmosphere and Incredibly delicious cuisine. You cannot fault the steaks and chicken that get... prepared here. Only the finest cuts and Top quality. Loved my meal.
