We went here on Saturday night for my husband's birthday. Our waiter, Dean, was fantastic. We ordered two of the burgers and... while pricey, they were excellent and we'd happily order them again. The only issue we experienced was the length of time ittook to receive food after placing our order. I think even dessert took 30 min or so. I noticed this same comment in priorreviews as well, so I wouldn't go here if you are on a time crunch or with kids who can't sit for extended periods of time. One of the originals on the strips of White Rock Beach, great quality of the food, authentic ketchup, gourmet burgers. The... servers are extremely kind and accommodating for our request for sitting arrangements. The only missing link would be the waittime for our foods. Overall. A must go place in WR. Read more
Uli’s is a restaurant that has won many, many awards. They already have a reputation for being one of the best restaurants in... the city. Consequently, we came in with very high expectations. We came here for dinner Saturday night. It was our first time here and we were excited to check it out as we have heard many... wonderful things. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't as good as it could be I don't think. We arrived shortly after 8 anddidn't get our drinks until after 8:30. We both got a MaiTai and they were fantastic! It took a very long time to get our food -about 50 minutes. My fiance ordered a 4.0 burger with added bacon, as suggested by our server. He also subbed in seafoodchowder for an extra $5 instead of fries. I had a Reuben sandwich in gluten free bread and I also subbed in the seafoodchowder. My Reuben was quite amazing. It was very tasty! Both of our chowders were barely luke warm. That was disappointing,but we were hungry so didn't send them back. My fiance's burger was very good, except for the bacon which was inedible. Ourserver only came to check on us once at the very beginning after our first bites. The first bites were fine and didn't includeany bacon. After that though, the bacon had to be removed because it was so hard and could not even be chewed. When my fiancepointed it out to the server at the end of the meal the server said something like, well, you could have told me when I checkedin you after your first bite. I find that to be rather disrespectful, especially since he didn't come back to check on us sothat we could say anything after that. He took the $4 bacon addition off the menu and offered desserts. We did not have room fordesserts and didn't want desserts. The server said the kitchen was having a really difficult time that evening so I'm hopefulthat this experience was an anomaly. Read more
Let's start with the service. Wonderful! Everyone from the host/hostess, servers, chef, and manager were awesome. Our... sever/manager was pumped to have us and equally pumped about the food we were about the eat. The vibe was chill. We had thesteak (locally sourced and Donia farms), mushroom risotto, Uli's burger which came with skinny fries, yes skinny fries, and aFinancier Cake for dessert. I'd go back just for the dessert. The manager was super friendly and the food was good. We had the crab cakes and Vegan Burger. I wouldn't score Uli's five stars... however, simply because the service/food doesn't match the price. The prices are high for what your offered. Plus the inside andoutside patio isn't very nice, it's those places you visit once, but not regularly. Read more
We had such a lovely staycation in White Rock last September that we wanted to visit again for lunch and sight seeing. We... decided to try Uli's and had a wonderful meal. The food is delicious, perfectly seasoned with decent portions. The calamari isso fresh and tender. The Oyster Rockefeller is divine, and the burger is tasty. The service is very attentive too.
