Everything and I do mean everything here is absolutely prodigious! From the beginning when you pull up the artwork on the sign,... until time to pay the check you will not be let down! When you walk through the door the ambience just pulls you in. Find a seatand spend some time. Our waitress Morgan was fantastic. Everything she recommended not only sounded great but the tase, exquisite! I mean I rarely get this excited about a restaurant and rarely give a 5 star, perfect review. The Chef and the Frogis certainly the exception. The soup of the day was cream of squash and goat cheese soup. Mwahh. Wonderful. Creamy. Flavorful. The French onion was just as compelling! It may sound wierd but the chicken quesadila was full and flavorful! Dare I say thebest I have had?! The dish of the day was the Cambodian Beef. When I say flavor bomb I mean FLAVOR BOMB! This was so good Iordered another to take home for dinner. The owner came out and spoke with us for a minute and that elevated our experience evenmore! He was so kind. His wife is the chef and let me tell you he loves that woman! We met her briefly as well and you can tellshe puts her heart in her food. We ended the meal with bananas foster. That was just bananas! The best I have ever had! Theymake all deserts home made. No boxed ingredients. Everything is fresh. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. You willthank me and your taste buds will thank you! We stopped In for the full menu but we were surprised to find a brunch-only menu on Sunday. It is a nice brunch menu- we had the... Mediterranean omelette. Food was delicious and if the eggs are this good I can’t wait to try the REAL menu. Clean, friendly, and obviously a loved space. It was packed. Read more

We had dinner at the Chef and the Frog with a large group of people. The restaurant is beautiful and the live music a lovely... background. The service was attentive, effiecient, and friendly. We had several appetizers for the table and everyone of themwas delicious. The group favorite was split between the fried green tomatoes - which were perfectly crisp and flavorful- and theegg rolls. My entree was was fresh, sophisticated, and tasty. The consensus at the table regarding their entrees - steak, shrimpand grits, pasta, and tuna was the same. This restaurant is a world class treasure hidden off the beaten path. Well worth thedrive from the beach and we'll definitely be back. Read more

First of all the service was terrible. We arrived and had to hunt down a hostess to find us a table. Our waitress was a nice... lady but she was not a good waitress. She was great at keeping our drinks full but had to wait a very long time to order andover an our to get our food. There was only 1 other customer in the restaurant. Now on to our food. None of the food had anyseasoning. We ordered fried green tomatoes for appetizer. I had to add salt just to be able to eat them. I ordered the crepe. Itcame out with a sauce that was so runny my crepe was soggy and it was like eating crepe soup. I could not even finish it. MyFrench onion soup had that processed fake “American cheese “ Swiss cheese on it and for the prices you would think they’duse real cheese. The soup of the day was chicken florentine which looked like dirty dish water and tasted like it looked. 2people in my group ordered burgers. One was a peppercorn and other was black and bleu. The black and bleu was supposed to beblackened seasoned and there wasn’t even any salt on the burger. They were ordered to be medium and came out well done. Thepeppercorn one had that fake cheese on it and barely had any peppercorns and again no salt or seasoning. The last person in mygroup ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and that was probably only meal that remotely had any seasoning and was edible. For the price I would expect food with seasoning and flavor and service to match. So disappointed!! Read more

Amazing hidden gem! The Princess and her Frog share their incredible fairy tale dream with anyone who stumbles across the... unassuming storefront in sleepy downtown Whiteville. ???? From the first bite, French-Asian fusion immediately makes sense. Refined yet casual food could possibly be the best to be found anywhere between Charlotte and Wilmington. Warm friendly staffand an occasional visit from the Frog transports the diner to a magical space that could be taking place anywhere in the world'srichest food destinations. Please do take the time to read Chef Sokun's story for a dose of inspiration. **Update** We stoppedby again on our way to the beach and again, it was absolutely worth the short detour off Hwy 74. ????????. Just need to find areason to be in Whiteville in the evening to try the dinner menu and hang out in the gorgeous lounge in back! Read more

I was visiting Whiteville conducting a high school honor band for the weekend. I stopped in hoping to get my first meal of the... day. Ha ha. And I’m so glad I did. This place is a little gem. Handmade everything. The staff is incredibly friendly and mademe feel right at home. Do yourself a favor and order something that has the homemade blue cheese dressing, and finish your mealwith the bananas foster. You won’t regret it. Read more

Guillaume and his wife Chef Sokun are the absolute best! When we decided to throw together a small wedding in just a few weeks,... we reached out to them for catering. One of the dishes I wanted mimicked something off the menu at one of my favorite Michelinstar restaurants in DC. When I tried it the night of my wedding I thought it was better than the Georgetown restaurant. Theytook the ideas in our head and made them a reality. We loved working with them, and we loved eating their food even more! P.S.- They also own Sophie's, which catered my 'morning of' with the best quiches I've ever had. Thank you Guillaume and Sokun forhelping us have such a perfect night! Read more
