I miss the old Black Sheep. I went with my husband about a month ago and wondered what happened to the restaurant. We had... tried to stop once before but it was closed despite the hours on the door. I thought I heard there were new owners and I wasright. Limited menu (decent burger and gluten free bun), but strangely quiet (only one other couple and they were seated rightnext to us) and total confusion when I asked for a tea and was first ignored and then given hot water in a metal pitcher. Idon’t feel the need to return anytime soon. Read more

Way way way over priced. Paper menus were disgusting, full of old food. They were out of everything on the menu. Made my old... fashioned with water rather then 7 up. Ordered a petite filet, got a what I think is a New York strip. For the price of dinner, the service was mediocre. I really love supporting local but I regret not cooking steak at home. I went for a special dinner andI left extremely disappointed. Read more

We had them for our daughter's wedding. I would not recommend for a wedding. Communication was very poor and it was stressful... doing business with them. Food was good, but was served late and was cold by the time some guests received their dinners.Although I was hopeful new management would do a good job, they were unable to meet expectations.. To be honest, communication & follow up was horrible! Jay didn’t remember me when I called, messed me up with a wedding... party. Food truck was supposed to arrive at 3:30 & didn’t show up until 4:15. I give them a 4 stars because when theyactually showed up the food was amazing & service was great! Everyone loved it! I just hope you understand Jay, communication &organization will make or break your business. The food was great though, thank you! Read more

Wedding Catering review: DISASTER -would give negative stars We chose The Black Sheep back in July of 2021 for our May 27, 2022... wedding & had an amazing tasting with Tyler (previous owner) & created a delicious menu to suit our dietary needs. In March2022, we were sent an email stating the ownership had changed & they now wanted to charge us $2300 more than our original signedcontract. We negotiated to pay an additional 25% to cover inflation. We were promised endlessly the quality & menu would be thesame as our original tasting. We had planned a family style meal: Mediterranean chicken, braised short rib, roasted redpotatoes& red curry pad Thai (gluten free & vegan) Asian sesame salad (GF) & late night mini Chicago dogs, charcuterie board &homemade red roasted hummus w veggies & bruschetta. 2. Our tasting was high quality nuts, cheeses, meats, chocolates &driedfruits. We were given snap peas and summer sausage and chunks of cheese with some fruit & crackers. 3. Vanilla pudding wasserved instead of homemade red pepper hummus. That was simply mind boggling as to how vanilla pudding could be served instead ofhummus & it was requested to be removed & were offered no replacement. 4. Tasting was spring mix edamame salad-What we got wasWalmart shredded lettuce with peanuts & ramen noodles(not GF). We had numerous GF guests including the bride herself-thatcouldn’t eat it. 6. We never got any red roasted potatoes. 7. We paid for a red curry pad Thai with tofu and veggies & wereserved mushy noodles with eggs & no tofu. this was the dish the bride (myself) had picked out & the dish was served with egg(not vegan). Not to mention we had guests who were also vegan & some gluten free who had no safe option. once again wasembarrassing to not have meal options for our guests. 8. no trust that the cooks were actually understanding the importance ofwhat gluten free & vegan was & no food for the bride -we had to order her a meal from a nearby restaurant. 9. It was ask Read more

Black Sheep was our caterer for our wedding on 04/09/2022. The staff at our wedding was professional and accommodating. The head... waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure the head table felt well taken care of, and the owner, Jay, was on-site to ensure theevent ran smoothly. All the guests received their selected meals. We were the first wedding for Black Sheep under newownership. Unfortunately, the transition between the old owner, Tyler, and the new owner, Jay, led to some miscommunication anddiffering expectations, including the dishes served, taste, presentation, and timing of plating. I don't anticipate this to bean issue going forward for couples since the transfer of ownership was a unique scenario. The biggest frustration we hadworking with Black Sheep was the delayed communication. We were told there would be an increase in pricing (with the newownership) about 2 months prior to the wedding (again, unique to the circumstances due to the transfer of ownership). The newprice was almost double our initial signed contract quote, this was negotiated to 20% increase of the initial signed contractquote. Timeliness of receiving invoices were often delayed or incorrect, which made payment and discussion of negotiatingdifficult. Additionally, we received the final invoice 1+ week after sending in our final numbers (and only a few days prior tothe wedding). When we sent some of our concerns/feedback, it did take over a month for a response (and a follow-up promptingemail). It's unfortunate our experience wasn't what we anticipated since weddings are a once in an a lifetime experience, butwe appreciated Jay apology/response to our concerns/feedback and he offered us a free meal as an act of good-faith. Absolutely beautiful restaurant and a very enticing menu! My wife and I went there about a month ago and I enjoyed their Old... Fashioned of the month made with orange cream whiskey. The concept fits Wisconsin to a T! In addition, their chef changes thefeatured dishes every month to match that of in-season produce and flavors, so the most local and highest quality ingredientscan be used. Pictured are the Yuca fries with a chipotle aioli, the jerk chicken with a coconut rice and pineapple salsa, andfor the wife, of course, the mac and cheese. But happy to say it was one of the best Mac and cheeses we’ve ever tasted and youcan tell the noodles were homemade which made it even better. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very chic and made you feellike you were eating a home cooked meal. Read more
