Outstanding food and service today, Lily our waitress was very cordial and attentive. Kept the drinks full during happy hour!... The portions are very generous, would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for good bbq with an edge. We had the Smacfries that were outstanding, along with brisket/pork. Amazing food! Really good BBQ, but I like the non-traditional approach. It's a nice change of pace from all the other BBQ... restaurants in town. It's also important to note that their sweet tea game is spot on. Service was a little slow, but veryfriendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again! Read more
Good location, parking was easy, service was good although the food took a bit longer than some, but exceptionally tasty. Few... suggestions for a BBQ joint.... plates. The rectangle platters might look good but not very functional as intended. Platesshould catch the drippings of those juicy burgers not my shirt. I looked like a 3 year old with burger dribbles all over myshirt. Ok okay laugh, my gal thought it was funny too. Also place paper napkins on the table. Fabric napkins is a nice step upbut not when you serve burgers that barely fit in man paws. They are not enough for those over the top menu items. Exhibit A -The Angry Angus burger with okra. We decided to start "DINING BY THE ALPHABET" Wichita, Ks Letter A- THE ANGRY ELEPHANT Score 5/5 It would take an elephant to... eat all of this food. The portion sizes were crazy! Easily 2 meals for us. The BBQ waffle was a new item that the waitressdidn't even know about. Turns out the owners changed the menus and didn't tell the waitstaff. ???? It was a winner. The wafflewas very savory and reminded me of a corn fritter. It was piled high with multiple kinds of meat and creama sauce. Glad theyadded it to the menu. The BBQ Mac was awesome. The Mac was so creamy and not dried out like some Mac can be. Loaded up with 3different meats and creama sauce. I personally didn't care for the hot links just because they were too sweet for me. The spicelevel was perfect but I'm just not a fan of sweet links. The staff was awesome and very friendly. The art on the walls was doneby a local artist. So happy they opened a new location closer to us! So...my 6 yr old daughter is very picky when it comes to food. She almost... always tells us to go to Jose Peppers cause she loves their Mac. Last week she told us to go to Angry Elephant! She is in lovewith their Ultimate Shake. We actually order it for dessert and we all eat on it. I have had their brisket tacos and porkburrito and If you like that smoked barbecue flavor you need to try these. Also both come with a Pico that has cucumbers inthem. It is such a refreshing Pico! Fair warning...if your Kid does not like spicy stuff don't have them get the kids mac. Ilove the stuff and have been more then willing to eat it when my girls don't. Read more
Delicious and unique touches to make their BBQ top notch! The pork literally melted in our mouths, the Carolina sauce is a rare... find in the Midwest and hit the spot, and they have a great variety of local craft beers on draft! Highly suggest! Went with a friend for the soft Reopening of The Angry Elephant. I'm so happy this restaurant has survived the pandemic! It's... one of my favorite BBQ places in town. I had a two-meat platter with brisket and pulled pork, with a side of fried okra, Mac(shells) and cheese, and what I believe to be the best cornbread in town, covered in honey. The nachos were pretty good. Although I must say that the food was not as great as we expected. The presentation of the food... looked amazing but the Mac n cheese was bland and the burger wasn't great. A bit to pricey for the taste of the food! Servicecould be better....our server did not check on us so no refills on drinks! Read more
