This was my second attempt to eat there. First time there was a very long wait so we went elsewhere. This time we decided to... stick it out. Waited outside for 30 minutes for a table. Understandable. It was a Sunday and the Eagles were playing so it waspacked. We were seated after the 30 and sat there for about 15 minutes. Finally someone came by and asked if anyone took ourdrink orders and we said "no". They said they'd be right back. They never came back. A table next to us was seated 5 minuteslater and someone came to take their drink order within a minute. That's when we decided to leave. If you have a few hours tokill and want to feel like you are invisible, try the Anthracite. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. Read more

Just good. Not great? Not terrible. the food was pretty good. Everyone?s meal came out hot and fresh and was pretty flavorful. I... opted for the Middleswarth burger which left a bit to be desired. There wasn?t much of the chips the menu had claimed for it tohave. They seemed mostly laid on-top and not spread very evenly. The cheesy sauce was good but the patty itself seemed like anormal burger. The other person in my party got a regular burger and I would have probably just got that and saved a fewdollars. Our burgers were flavorful but just generally lacking or a bit of a letdown. To the chefs credit the burgers werecooked perfectly and the toppings were ripe and crisp. The pretzel chicken was pretty good, Expensive but they do give you ahuge piece to take half of it home it seems. it was crisp and the pretzel crust was great. The honey mustard was mild and sweetbut I did enjoy it. I like taking pictures for my review but it was pretty dark in the part we were sat at. I wouldn?t go out ofmy way to go back but if I did I would order different things. The staff was very very nice and pleasant. Read more

?First visit after many recommendations. Overall everything was great. Our waitress Lisa was excellent! She was pleasant,... attentive and an asset to your restaurant. The only downside was the iceberg lettuce, carrot and cabbage mix. This bagged mixnever tastes fresh and always has a distinctively packaged flavor. The menu says ?mixed greens?. The salad would have been muchbetter if it had actually consisted of a fresh mix. That being said, we will dine here again!? Read more

The Anthracite Cafe was a mixed experience. The bar/restaurant was mostly crowded at 7 p.m. on a Friday night, and quite noisy.... My party of two had reservations, and was seated promptly once we entered. The server was a pleasant woman, and a large partynext to us had a different server who was very attentive to their requests. Although my girlfriend and I ordered twocheeseburgers, we had to wait approximately 45 minutes before our meals arrived. Maybe there wasn't enough staff, maybe theestablishment was very busy, but I found the wait to be a bit excessive. The Middleswarth Cheeseburger -- featuring the famedlocal barbeque Middleswarth potato chips -- will appeal to the local clientele, as the burger was supposed to be stuffed withMiddleswarth crumbles, along with cheddar cheese. However, that didn't prove to be true, as there was no cheese oozing from theburger, and the crumbles rested on top of a slice of cheese. The burger also wasn't topped with bacon as described. I chose notto bring this to the attention of my server because I didn't want to prolong my hunger by waiting for what could have been along time. Instead of the toasted brioche roll, I opted for a pretzel roll, which was an additional 99 cents and worth the extramoney. Although the chip crumbles provided additional flavor, there was no balance. Sometimes I could discern the barbequeflavor, but mostly not. What was supposed to be a sandwich designed to invite the local customer proved flat overall. The TexasBurger on the other hand, was very good. That bacon on it was tasty, and the barbeque sauce was tangy and flavorful. This wasalso served on a fresh pretzel roll. The steak fries were very good, and I liked the fact that they weren't salty, allowing meto add salt to my liking. The menu boasted a wide assortment of wings, which I will definitely try should I visit again. Iwould try and go a bit earlier so as to avoid the wait time. The establishment does add an additional 3.99% c Read more

Wow wow wow! The food was really good! We ordered the 2 for 28 Tuesday. We got the nachos, my significant other got the ribs,... and I got the blackened chicken alfredo. I ordered a flight to try different beer. I was not disappointed and loved each andevery one I tried. I cannot say which one I enjoyed the most they were all that good! I encourage every one beer lover or not tocome to this place and try the flight to see what you like the most. I have to admit I have never been much of a beer fan myselfbut my cousins have gotten me out of my shell and opened my eyes to the wonderful world of beer in that there are so manydifferent types and flavors out there. I still do not like IPAs or hoppy beer. For those who want to know which beer and cider Ihad in my flight were 2, 5, 6, 9, 11. Each and every one truly were so good. Read more
