This place would not seat my nursing sorority of just 15 people. Over the phone, it was not an issue. But once we arrived, the... story changed. We were told that we needed to spend $600 total as a group. If we did not, then we would have to cover thedifference. What?! I have never heard of this before. Also, why would we not have $600 amongst us . It's a steakhouse, really?The meal with a alcoholic beverage comes to at least $50. There was fifteen (15) people times $50, which is $750 and notincluding taxes & tips. The atmosphere was snooty. The servers there had a attitude of privilege. Just awful! This location was fantastic. I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and this place was perfect. Both the meal and the... service were of the highest possible quality. The dish had just the right amount of seasoning throughout. The side dishes are ofa sufficient size to serve three to four people. There is nothing about which I have cause to complain. Food was absolutely delicious. Wine was half off on Sunday. The owner hand picks each wine on the menu and the bottle we ordered... was cheap yet highly rated and amazing. The steak was also perfectly cooked. I ordered the rib eye steak medium rare and it wassuper tender and packed with flavor. For dessert I had the chocolate concerto and a coffee which were both great. Would highlyrecommend this restaurant to anyone in the area and will be sure to come back next time I’m in Williamsburg. Opus 9 Steakhouse! Brittany took me here for our anniversary! Oh my goodness. If it wasn't for the bathroom you'd get 5 stars!... I was SO disappointed!! I really want to give you 5 but I can't because that's one of my grades....ugh. House - The place isimmaculate! Super clean! Staff - as professional as you can get. The manager is even a sommelier. He helped us with our winesfor our meal. Food - scallops were cooked perfectly. Steaks were correct! Potatoes were really good. Not sure why the potatochip was in them.....it ended up being soggy. I'd remove it. The onion rings were delicious too! And the creme brulee.....neverhad it but it is now one of my favorite desserts! Bathroom - WHY? This is the one star that should never be an issue in thistype of restaurant! Price - Yes it was expensive, but it was well worth it! Everything was perfect! I have been pretty critical of steakhouses in the past as the seam to not really care about much else than the steak on the... plate. Opus was a very nice atmosphere and didn’t feel like a chain or a chop shop. They have a nice patio that allows dogs, anice bar, and side dishes are fresh and flavorful. Above all else the steak was great and cooked perfectly. They bring thestakeout on a hot plate so it can rest and not loose heat.. Read more
