1st off, Catie is the heart of this place and the #1 reason I will be back in the future. There is a cheese steak spot in... Norfolk that I have been going to since 1995 thet never fails to deliver. Ricks is almost a tie but they are the best I have had on this side of the water. I think if Ricks used the same roll and had yellow american cheese they would beat out my favoritespot. My Mom and God Sister were in town for Thanksgiving and they had a taste for a cheese steak so i took them to Rick'sbecause a friend of mine said it was the best. My Mom and Sis loved it so much we had to stop by Rick's before flying back outto Dallas and they packed to extra cheese steaks in there carry on to share with family back home! Thank you Catie! Boy, this is a great place to stop for lunch. It's located on campus, and the dining area is quite small. Business was steady... the whole time we were there, but we didn't wait too long for our food. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The foodwas delicious, and the portion size was large. I only ate half my sandwich; it comes with a heaping helping of meat. It was adecent, casual lunch stop. I would recommend. Read more
Very good cheesesteaks. We've had many from Philly and these are just as good. They don't skimp on the meat! Katie our server... was very sweet and helpful. I saw the reviews and decided to give this place a try. When we went it was moderately busy lunch time for a Sunday with mostly... pick up orders. The wait was about 15 to 20 minutes. But, when our food was ready it was hot. The customer service was excellentand the food tasted great. Since there is no soda fountain, there was a large selection of drinks to choose from kids drinks toadult alcohol drinks. My steak and cheese was filled with meat and, yes, there was lettus, tomato, and mayo in there. Mydaughter ordered a BLT. When she opened the box, I asked if she would like more sandwich to go with her bacon. The dine in areais not large but there were tables outside as well. Phenomenal little place with outstanding food. It may not be an authentic Philly cheesesteak wit wiz, if that is what you are... expecting, but definitely comparable with the additional toppings available, hot peppers were an excellent addition. I had a 5 star experience before I even got the food. The lady who was taking the orders was one of the nicest people I?ve had... the pleasure of interacting with. She was very polite and truly showed what southern hospitality is about. The subs wereamazing! The food and bread was very fresh and it wasn?t greasy which is a huge plus for us. Went to Rick?s today for dinner - got a cheesesteak, fries and drink and cookie. Took about 10 or so minutes. Everything tasted... decent. All together it cost nearly $20 for everything. One thing that stuck out to me was that they charge an extra 3.48% toanyone using a debit or credit card.. not sure why they are passing off credit card merchant costs onto customers like this -seems strange to me. But if you do just so happen to go here just make sure you add that to the cost of whatever you get if youuse a debit/credit card (as most people do now a days). Read more
