I'd really like to rate this place higher. The food is amazing, and their cocktails are original and tasty, too. However, there... is always a wait to be seated, even when you have reservations. The tables are so close together that you end up bumping yourchair into another chair from the table behind you. If someone from either table has to use the restroom, it's this whole jengagame of who can move first. The wait-staff never tells you if something on the menu is out of stock (happens frequently) untilyou order. The food "comes out as it's ready," meaning that at a table of 4, one person can be served their meal 10-20 minutesbefore everyone else (again, this happens frequently). The kitchen will not make substitutions or replacements, so if you havefood allergies I would NOT go here. They also will only cook steak and burgers rare to medium-rare, which isn't a problem forme, but I could see how this might be a problem for someone else. The wait-staff rarely comes to the table, so you've got toflag someone down to get a water or drink refill and for silverware. Each time I've been, I've been served my meal and then hadto ask for a fork from someone else. Overall, the establishment seems pretty stuck up and overly confident about their food,which tastes amazing, but it's a lot to put up with - especially when there are so many great restaurants in the Cleveland area. My husband and I went for a date night. Our good friends had highly recommend it. They were right! The food was delicious. I... got the catch of the day and my husband got the pork chops. We had excellent service. They have an extensive bourbon selection.Our wine choices went perfectly with our meals. We will definitely go back again. Read more

Great service and atmosphere and that's about all. The porkbelly was overly salted, to the point there was no pork taste. My gf... got the halibut, which she likes but the polenta was just ok. The 14 ounce ribeye was cooked perfectly but, once again, overlysalted. Not heading back. Read more

Another great place to have in Willoughby! Be prepared for slow service, especially if it's just the bartender taking care of... the bar and the tables around the bar (2nd time we've experienced that; maybe it's standard), but the food will make you forgetthat aggrevation. We had the shrimp & grits and the tomahawk pork chop. Both were as good as we've had anywhere, including downsouth for the S&G! Read more

Was looking for a new place to try for dinner with my brother and stumbled across Hook and Hoof online. Never thought I would... try one of the best steaks I?ve ever had that night! I got the daily steak special, it was cooked and seasoned to perfection.Absolutely amazing food and drinks and a great ambiance as well. All the ingredients are fresh and change regularly depending onwhat is local and fresh, this is normally the sign of an amazing restaurant. However the service was only okay, make sure to seta reservation before you go as it was reservation only except for the bar. The hostess seemed kinda clueless about whether wecould be sat at the bar or not without a reservation, besides this hiccup it was a great experience I would gladly have dinnerhere again! Read more

Let me start out by saying I never would have dreamed I'd get the best shrimp and grits I've ever eaten in Willoughby, OH... But... that's exactly what happened. I have a hard and fast shrimp and grits rule. If it's on the menu, I'm getting it. I can't helpmyself. The shrimps they use are closer to lobsters. They're seriously massive. The red sauce was perfectly applied andobviously the grits were cooked to perfection. Remember, I've eaten this entree in restaurants around the country and this wasthe best I've ever had. ??????? Ambience = Perfect. The lighting, the decor, the music. Everything was just right. The bourbonselection is as good as you'll find outside of Kentucky. Our server Sarah was friendly, attentive, not overbearing, and justwho we needed. Hopefully I get to keep working with the customer based in this area as I'd like to experience all of it again.
