Place is definitely not how they used to be before covid. Small portions and does not even taste the same. Nothing Jamaican... about it and ive been to st.Anns Jamaica several times. Do yourself a favor and go to Aromas next door there food is alotbetter. Its not Jamaican. But at least its real Peruvian food. The food is okay. I wish they cleaned the fat off the oxtails way better b/c I always get more fat than meat and this is my 2nd... time trying to give this place a chance. I had been looking for a good Jamaica spot, since the last one I went to closed. This place went beyond my expectations. Very disappointed. If you want to pay 18$ for a few pieces of thin cut oxtail, bland cabbage, and no plantains or rice coming... with your plate, go here. I have eaten a lot of Jamaican food, and I never leave anything left on my plate. I always ask forextra gravy on the rice because the gravy is supposed to be good to the last drop. This did not taste Jamaican. The oxtail wastender, but the sauce honestly tasted like really salty Mccormick roast beef mix. I didn't taste any herbs/thyme, no hint ofclove, no scotchbonnet, nothing, just really salty brown sauce. I almost didn't even want to finish it was so salty. When youget the plate it is presented like you get a couple good size pieces of oxtail, but in actuality, they take 1 normal oxtail andslice it into a few pieces. I have never seen this done before and felt so ripped off. I scooted all the oxtail together (3slices) and it was really just a couple bites of meat per slice, for 18$. Normally you at least get one good size piece and acouple smaller but chunky pieces..This is not a cheap meal. We got 2 plates, my husband and I, and it was nearly 40 dollars fora lot of disappointment. Rice, beans, cabbage, plantains, are cheap ingredients. At least give people willing to pay for oxtaila decent size piece of meat. I will never go back. I gave the rest of the rice and sauce to my dog?I never have done thatbefore. Got some jerk chicken and escovitch chicken for lunch with curry vegetables, fries, candied yams and plantains as the sides. ... The jerk chicken was well flavored and tender. The curry vegetables had the distinct curry flavor. The yams and plantains wereexcellent. Fries were good.
