Nikki's is my favorite sushi restaurant in Wilmington. I have only been to the Mayfaire location and the one in the mall and in... three years I've only had one incident I wasn't really happy about. The food is delicious and the presentation is great. Ivisited a couple days ago and I got my usual, a super crunch roll wich by itself is 20$. I understand that this is a specialtyroll and I usually get what I pay for except this time it was really lack luster. It was 9 small pieces and they weren't laidout in roll. They were laid flat 3 across. I don't know if they have a new chef, but I was not impressed with what I received. Ionly had 30 minutes during my lunch break or I would of went back and complained. I can't figure out how to add another reviewso I'm going to add to this one. The managers read my reviews and reconciled my complaint quickly. Woefully underwhelmed. There wasn?t even yum yum sauce! I ordered a ginger salad with steak hibachi and fried rice to-go. The... salad ingredients tasted old, the rice was cooked in a thick oil like canola and lacked the savory flavor and normal texture,the meat was ok. When I was broke in college I would eat at a hibachi restaurant for $8 and I can confidently say that wasbetter. I unfortunately can?t find one positive thing to say about this meal. Read more

Came and was seated immediately, Wednesday night, not busy at all. No one took our order besides drink. Guy came brought us... drinks and a 18$ bottle of saki. Never came back. Literally never took our order we waited 45 minutes for nothing and had to payfor drinks and saki that we didn't get to enjoy with any food. Ridiculous. Read more

Made reservations for my mother's birthday. Got there to check in and they gave her reservation to someone else. Typically not a... big deal we just wait for another table. We finally got our table after about 15 minutes. We sat at our table for about 30minutes before they took a drink order. We sat there for another 30 to 45 minutes before they finally came to take our order. We ordered two appetizers which did not come out until after our food was already being cooked. Had to go find the waiter to getrefills for water. Huge sign at registered States eat for free when you bring for guests for your birthday. Got 50% off birthdaygirl dinner, then they would not value a $12 off coupon that I have. So basically lesson learned and I will never eat thereagain. Worst experience ever. Read more

Decided to give Nikki's a try, we live nearby and have never been. Soon as I walked in it felt dark and dreary, I just been... outside in the sun and my mood was instantly changed by the interior and smell. It was not pleasant. It was 2 in theafternoon I did not see anyone else inside restaurant beside husband & I. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. I thought maybethe food will be amazing and all this won't matter. Unfortunately, not the case. Food was average. My husband thought thesushi tasted the same as what he gets at Harris Teeter. Our waitress, Hannah must have been in a rush to get rid of us becauseshe brings me a to go box while I'm still eating. Rude. And then the check. Does even speak as we leave.
