This place came highly recommended. The wait was long but definitely worth it. Please be aware that the if there's a wait don't... venture too far, because if the hostess doesn't "see your face" you might skipped. This place is big and gets crowded. Ourwaitress was very busy and hard working, she was hard to find at times. Like when I wanted to order a cocktail flight. But wereceive all of our meal at the same time and it was hot. We had the "who dat" with cheese grits and the wrightsville beachFrench toast with sage sausage, my little one had the French toast bites and bacon. It all was very good. Staff was friendly and the new menu looks good. We didn't have a big enough area for our group but we managed. A few items were... forgotten in our order but the waiter did a great job answering questions and tailoring our experience. Not a big deal buthopefully they'll clean the bathrooms. Read more
I was so excited to eat at this Cafe, the menu looked amazing. After a day on the water I decided to order a coffee, sandwich,... salad & dessert to go so I could get home quickly. Dessert was boxed & bagged immediately. I paid, sat and waited. After 30minutes I asked for my coffee while I waited on the food. Employees were walking around talking and there was only two tables ofguests so I was shocked 10 minutes later when I still hadn't received coffee or food. After asking for a status of my coffee andfood my receipt was taken to the back to track down my order. Five minutes later an employee came out with my food. I had to askagain for my coffee. I didn't think to check for the salad dressing for my salad & later discovered I never received any and itwasn't on the salad already. While the sandwich was delicious, I would never wait 45 minutes again for anything from this Cafe.Not impressed with this experience and would not come back. Read more
Sweet n Savory Cafe was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere as great very modern but also a bit... eclectic. The service was well above average in my opinion. The food was amazing! The menu was several pages long withplenty to choose from and there were several unique items listed I had to google because i honestly hadn't been heard ofthem. Checked off another restaurant on my Wilmington list. Great unique place with super friendly staff and 70's music everyone is... jiving to. Specials every night including drinks. How can you go wrong with $2.99 draft beers. The food is good and a widevariety. Started with the spicy fried calamari that had fried jalapeños as well. My Waterzooi was a rich creamy sauce full ofseafood with rice and over easy egg. The islander had wonderfully seasoned shrimp over creamy Parmesan rice. Heard another of good reviews about this restaurant and had to try it! The fried pickles were good, the shrimp and grits is the... best thing. The corned beef dish is not that great, not much flavor. The service felt rushed, could've been better. I wasdisappointed in my experience here. Read more
We went on a Wednesday at 11:30 am. It wasn't too busy when we showed up but by the time we left, it was almost full. We tried... the Mimosa Flight which was great. We also ate the WB french toast and the Kickin' Chicken. My french toast came out with 2pretty burnt looking pieces. It was okay. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be better or not, but didn't know how it was onDiners, Drive Ins and Dives. Now, the chicken sandwich was great. It had flavor but not a lot of spice. I arrived at 5:45ish on a Saturday afternoon in a party of 5. We were visiting the area for my birthday. We were greeted and... seated promptly. The waiter came shortly after being seated, but didn’t introduce himself. We all got waters to start. Anotherwaiter brought bread while our waiter took our order. I got hushpuppies as an appetizer and it arrived about 5 mins afterordering. A couple others in the party got salads and that came the same time hushpuppies did. I ordered a dreamsicle(alcoholic) which wasn’t that bad. My kid got the basic chicken tenders and fries. I got shrimp and grits. My bf got aplatter with ribs and brisket. I had some of his food.
