We had a wonderful meal last night. I had the trout with curry sauce and my wife had the beef tips. Both meals were... outstanding and cooked to perfection. Truly a great family operation where the engaging owner is the chef and his daughter wasour server. Highly recommend you try this restaurant. Read more

Man this place was so damn good. I got the beef tips and my wife got the crepes which both were amazing. We also got the shrimp... and sausage appetizer which was very tasty. The wine reco gor my dinner was right on and changed the taste of the wine and foodall for the better. It takes a little longer for food but worth everything second to wait. For sure will come back. Expensive, food is not great, atmosphere very odd. Went there over 10 years ago, decided to give it another try, now I know why... we have not been back. 1st, made reservations for 7. Showed up around :15 early, was seated. There were about 4 othercouples/tables occupied. Interior is tired, not any particular style, but comfortable. As soon as we were seated, thewaitress (who was obviously new), said there was a wait because there was only herself and the chef working. Not a problem, will order some wine and wait. Ordered a bottle, and she said the chef had to server it (maybe she is not old enough?). Anywayhe showed up with the wine, made a couple of corny jokes, poured our wine and left. Long story, ordered appetizers then food. The appetizers took an hour to get (now close to 8pm). Very good escargot and some mushrooms, but the bread was very odd...notyour typical wonderful french bread but tiny little squished looking pieces, almost as if it came from freezer bread, baked andsquashed. Finally our food came, not impressed, fish was overcooked, a side of maybe 2 Tbsp of rice (not making this up), andthe same couple tablespoons of mixed vegetables. The other couple with us ordered crepes, and what came out looked like a bigburrito made out of crepe, stuffed with the filling they had ordered. Again, not your typical rolled up crepes, but a crepeburrito. All during this time the chef would pop up at our table, make more corny jokes, then disappear. Finally we were askedif we wanted dessert, which we ordered creme brulee and decaffeinated coffee. It was fine, not great, not bad. The weirdnesscame when after a few minutes, the chef came, asked how our dessert was, then proceeded to pick it up and walk away with it. Mywife protested, asked for it back to finish, and he stood there while she was finishing it. After she was done, he picked upthe dishes and left. We asked for the check, which was produced immediately, paid and left. Only a Read more

Wonderful experience with "Poppa" and his daughters! Very much enjoyed the food, wine, and a pleasant NYE dinner. Somehow,... someway, Poppa is a "one man band" who naps in the back between lunch and dinner to make it all work. Both daughters were sopleasant and striving to make the diners and Poppa happy. We have been to countless French restaurants and for me, the onionsoup was excellent! Read more

We really enjoyed our time here last night. Our server was attentive, energetic, and great at recommending the best of the... house. The chef was lovely: he came out to help us select a red wine, and to check on our meals later. The dining room feelslike you are eating at your aunts home. Super cozy. Please support this place during Covid. It?s a gem. My ex, a very savvybusinessman, was doing the math based on the number of patrons he saw and the prices on the menu, and said to me, they didn?thave a good night ???? Read more

Excellent food! Service was wonderful. And loved the cozy atmosphere. My husband ordered the tilapia sandwich and he said it was... the best he's ever ate. My creme brulee was perfection. We can't wait to visit again. Read more

My friend and I visited LNC twice this weekend. These were our first visits. They accept reservations for dinner which is nice.... It is a quaint cafe. We had dinner and brunch. All of the food was great. The French Oniin Soup and Creme Brulee wereawesome! Be sure to try the French toast! There is street (sometimes metered) parking...and a parking garage just down theblock. We look forward to visiting again when in town. Update 3/2019: visited again and tried the duck and the prosciuttowrapped aspara6. Great meal again. Read more
