It's good I don't live near Bears. It might take years off my life! As it is, I eat there as often as I have the chance, and... purely coincidentally acquiesced to a statin prescription since accepting my addiction. Stand out items include the burnt ends(and the brisket in general), the beans, and the weekend beef rib special. One massive rib is too much for amateur appetites! Ispend lots of time in Memphis, but honestly Bears beats anything I've had there (except maybe the ribs at the BBQ shop inmidtown... if you're ever in Memphis, that, too, is worth the trip). Bears is simply one of the best BBQ joints anywhere.Period. Read more
A taste of Southern BBQ up North. When I was invited to this cozy restaurant just minutes from Hartford Airport ???? I was... quite surprised by the variety of food and large portions. Good smokehouse food! I got the ribs and pulled pork! Ribs were delicious and smoked to perfection! Definitely worth the up... charge to me. Also enjoyed a cute garden salad. Corn bread was okay. Soda fountain was working but store had no cups available.Had to buy bottles of soda for 3.50$ each. Overall reasonable prices for the quality of food! Read more
Food was decent, meat was tender and the sauces were a must try. The ghost pepper bbq definitely had a nice kick ???? ????. ... Wanted a fountain soda, but they had no cups. So $7 for 2 bottles of soda was a little outrageous. Read more
I think in years past it was much better than it was this past evening. Tried the moink balls which are meatballs wrapped in... bacon. They didn't wow me but they were okay. We also tried Bear balls which are combination of pulled pork macaroni and cheesedeep-fried in a corn muffin batter topped with some cheese sauce from the macaroni and cheese and bacon bits. That wasinteresting to say the least. I got the one meat and two sides platter which consisted of pulled pork macaroni and cheese andmashed sweet potatoes. The pulled pork was a little on the mushy side. The mashed sweet potatoes had a bit too much of allspice in them and the macaroni and cheese was so so. Read more
Good food but awful service. If they have a self service line away from the bar open I suggest going with that. You absolutely... do not want to depend on the wait staff. Mac and cheese was pretty good and comes recommended Read more
