This is great entry level sushi. If you're trying it for the first time, the price is good and it's worth trying. The quality... was lacking though. Ordered the crab cheese wontons as an app. You'd think they'd be super hot getting to the table, but theywere barely warm. The quality of the sushi and rolls we ordered were barely to that of the Zehr's in the same plaza. And whengetting Bento B that gives a salmon roll, why on earth you'd get 3 more pieces of salmon as part of the 6 sushi you getis...unbalanced. Shrimp was excellent. The teriyaki chicken was very good. We got sub-par service. We wanted to order drinks,but were never asked, just given water. And the water wasn't refilled until we were basically done with the meal. My husband and I have been searching for a great ramen & sushi cuisine since we left London in 2019. We are from leamington and... chose Genki based off reviews. We are so glad we made the choice we did because this restaurant is nothing short of amazing! Ialso wanted to mention that my husband lived in Shanghai for a year, he was able to gather the authentic taste of ramen and hementioned that this place is identical to the bowls he had in China. This sushi spot is not Japanese/Korean-owned (which I feel produces the best sushi), but they totally deserve 5 stars for their... service and full effort. First of all, my husband is gluten-free. We came during their opening week and it was here that welearned that wasabi is not totally Gf (!). Also, they did not have GF soy sauce (i.e. tamari) available so they sent one oftheir staff members out to retrieve us a bottle of GF soy sauce!?! My husband had some sushi and they did NOT disappoint intheir quantity. Also their sushi was much fresher than some of the other spots in the Forest Glade area. I personally ordered ablack garlic ramen and although it didn?t taste fully authentic, I do commend them on their tries (still tasted good butobviously not authentic). My niece also had a similar experience; she ordered a pho which she enjoyed but was notauthentic-tasting in comparison to Vietnamese-owned restaurants. I'll be 100% honest the food was good for me (I just had sushi) however it took over an hour table of six to get there food, by... the time we got our food they didn't remember who ordered what plus a few people at our table had issues with the pho that hadbarley any broth and the noodles were cold. It took several request for my friend to get more broth on top of that we had toremind the waiter to bring us soy sauce after having our sushi for 10 minutes. It seemed like they were more concerned aboutserving food delivery services than sit in diners as we heard notifications going off every 5 minutes. We've ordered a few times and had good service everytime. This time I used the chat service over Google and they replied back... almost instantly.
