Orleans and York hit the ground running since they opened their first restaurant in Los Angeles. Since then they have quickly... opened more great locations serving up some of the best Creole dish offerings and East Coast style sandwiches that will have youfeeling like you are eating in New Orleans or New York...hence the name (duh)????. I love their spin on traditional Creolecuisine like "Gumbo Mumbo", the "Big Mo" and other delicious dishes. If you love Hero or Muffuletta sandwiches, O&Y completelyknocks it out of the park. They always have a great variety of chips(including Voodoo), quality beverages, sides made in house,and a variety of fresh desserts delivered by local bakeries daily. TIPS: 1. Always ask for their daily specials or look attheir board when visiting a location. Usually these dishes are super creative and delicous! 2. Get the Banana Pudding!!! (YourWelcome) 3. Might have been the dish I got but it was way too salty for me . I got the shrimp, salmon and sausage with bellpeppers sautee... over white rice. Item was added to my order that I didn't place and didn't realize it until I was given a total of over $70. Itwasn't until I checked the receipt to discover I was also charged for someone else's food also. I stopped over for a quick dinner and got their vegan dirty rice. I appreciate the varity of their menu. The servers were... courteous and helpful. When I asked for hot sauce, the asked if I was vegan because the hot sauce contains butter. It'sthoughtfulness like that that will make me come back. I recommend calling your order in ahead because the wait takes about 15minutes if you order in person. But the food was fresh and delicious. Read more
Nice place to grab a bite to eat right up the street from us. They seem to be pretty popular cause people were coming in and out... consistently. I ordered some vegan wings & fries... the wings can be a variety of flavors (I chose lemon pepper) they were goodtaste wise but were cooked a lil too long and were fried a lil too hard for me. Fries were on point though. My daughter got thesurf & turf bowl and she said it was delicious. I will have to come back and try something else one of these days because I wastold this doesnt normally happen there. Got a shrimp and catfish poboy and Cajun fried. Pretty decent. Main caveat is just the two lacked a little in flavor. Both the... seafood and fries were fried well, but could?ve used more seasoning. Baguette was alright, not the freshest, not sure why therewasn?t remoulade sauce smothered in. They do give you hot and honey mustard sauces plus ketchup. Po boy was a good size though. Read more
I had the catfish po-boy and it was delicious. I follow O&Y on Instagram and always thought the pictures of the food they post... looked yummy, so while I was in Los Angeles I noticed the location on Slauson and Overhill Dr. and decided to visit. Food horrible, had some type of soup because it definitely wasn't gumbo couldn't even eat it was so oily. I threw it... away. Lemon pepper wing nasty af also. Taste like citric acid just sour af no flavor could barely eat them with ranch sauce. Gota stomach ache immediately after. I will never come back or recommend Read more
