This is a tough review. I didn't like a few things from the jump, however, this is an old small restaurant by the airport, I... have to give someleeway and it is a nice theme. I love their menu but I went there for the tuna melt and I stuck to my guns, andI had a cup of chilli and fries. Everything on the menu is ala carte, and thats my thing with Mexican restaurants so I need tobe equitable (LOL!!). THEYVE GOT FRIED WHOLEBELLY CLAMS, $12.95 on a role, very fair price, I've got to go back. I've looked at this place every time I've been in hartford. I've always avoided it because it's 50s theme and growing up spent... so much timecar cruises and I've had my fill of 50s music. I decided to go this morning though and, wow, I have been missingout. Not only was the food great, but I was given a free show by Mona Lisa and her best friend Trudy. Two wonderful women thatworked so perfectly in sync they must have been doing it for years. From the outside the place looks so much larger than it is.When you walk in it's set up like an old school diner, counter on the right facing the grill, and a few small tables along thewall on the left. I had coffee to go with my breakfast which was great. I did notice that it was a self-serve fountain drinkswhich was needed because these two women working had so much to do but yet made me and everyone inside feel welcomed andappreciated. It almost makes me want to have more short layovers layovers in Hartford so I can come back to enjoy this place.Almost ???? I will be making it back to Skooter's anytime I do though. Read more

Mt first visit there was very good all around. The service was excellant and Super Friendly and the waitress treats you like... family. They have a lot to choose from their menu and serve breakfast all day. It's a throw decor style diner. The prices arenot bad and the food was good. Right now if you have Groupon, you could buy some coupons and give them a try at a reduced price.It was a week day, mid day visit and wasn't overly busy. What a fun experience!! We had to pick up people from the airport and came here for a family breakfast! The atmosphere was fun &... friendly. Lots of helpful staff who smiled the entire time we were here. The place was packed I can see why. Our family all gotbig breakfasts. They all liked the food 3 of them had omelettes and one had a classic fried egg & sides breakfast. Lots of food.I had to bring in my own food due to restrictions, but no one gave me a problem I was discreet about it. Great time had by all. The restaurant was very clean. Full friendly staff, the restrooms are huge and immaculate. What more can I say. If you are intown definitely worth the stop!! Read more
