Wanted a bit of a casual cozy intimate dinner with family and to try something new. I've heard nothing but great things about... this place from local Japanese food enthusiast in the community. It was a must try! Portions were huge! Felt like a dwarf bycomparison to the delicious amounts we received. Plenty to share! The ramen was amazing, delicious pork belly that just melt inyour mouth. My Lord. SUGOI! I've been eyeing their menu for 2 years and never got around to it. I wanted to have the BlackEmperor Jelkshake as a treat for myself after my daughter was born. Didn't get around to it in the 2021 year, but when I finallydid - wow, that sesame. Sweet, smooth, such a delight! Worth the wait! Don't like parking on the street? They've got parkingin the back! My family seemed to enjoy the food. So many wonderful options! They do have a high chair for those who have littleones like I do. She enjoyed the corquette and a bit of my yakisoba. My cousin and I were the slightest bit disappointed with nothaving the stuff we saw on instagram since they were old specials. As weebs, we wanted our tastebuds to delve in the world ofwhat our favorite Japanese animated characters had through food. Overall, the food wasn't disappointing at all! However, wewould like encourage the restaurant to have special days when you can dish out meals you see from Studio Ghibli, One Piece,Sailor Moon, and Naruto - just to name a few for the large anime loving community we have here in Winnipeg! Omurice, please!Haha or make a Tiktok highlighting the food you already have on the menu that our beloved characters enjoy on screen. Ourservers were great and accommodating. Thanks so much again! This is my favourite restaurant in the country, if not the world. I loved it so much the first time, I returned every day for... the rest of my stay in Winnipeg to try out as much as possible from their extensive menu. Everything I tried was delicious, without exception. The menu options are authentically Japanese, and are sometimes adjusted to Western tastes. The RussianRoulette takoyaki was a lot of fun because you don?t know when you?ll eat the super spicy one! The shoyu abura soba might be myfavourite dish. The gyoza are handmade. The teriyaki meat sauce korokke was hearty. The onigiri was bigger than expected, andcould be a meal in itself. The chicken katsu was impossibly crispy. The black sesame jelkshake will turn your ??? black. Sorry?TMI. The portions are big so bring your appetite or a friend to share with. Great value for your money! I ate like a ? the fourtimes I went. The service was friendly and the decor is nice. You wouldn?t know it?s a Japanese restaurant. Until Japan reopensits borders to tourism, we can be grateful to have a restaurant like this one in Canada! ??????????? Read more

Friendly service and delicious food--would come back for those two reasons. The okonomiyaki was okay but the matcha white hot... chocolate hit the spot on a cold chilly day. One of few places in the city that has black sesame ice cream. Read more
