This was our 'go to' place for chinese. I hate to complain, but enough is enough. DRY...dust dry, no sauce at all in our 4... dishes, we actually put out a bowl of sweet and sour sauce from a jar so our guests would have something to moisten their'pineapple sweet and sour pork', which had NO pineapple, and NO sweet and sour sauce. If not for the cooked noodles in the chowmein, it would have been dry veggies. Sorry, but no more. Read more

Amazing food and service. There were 6 of us total. Two individuals with celiac who said the food was amazing. We got plenty of... different dishes. A couple that really stuck out for me was the ginger chicken and the chicken balls they were the best Chinesedishes I've had from a restaurant. Overall the whole experience was perfect. Read more

One of the best restaurants in the city. Larger gatherings provide an opportunity to try several of the various dishes on offer... but, in the event there is no such gathering, you can still get a taste of the excellent selection at the buffet. I often stopby and order the spicy house chow mein when I'm by myself (though, they also offer a dinner for one). They have gluten freeoptions which is helpful for other people I dine with. We had decided to order from Empress of China and we did so if they had a time and the ordering was seamless and when we picked... it up, it was ready at the scheduled time. The ginger beef is incredible. The chicken balls are amazing. Just everything isreally good. I highly recommend this place. Read more

We ordered ?kung pao chicken? on the phone and this is what we received. So we called to express that we were dissatisfied how... there?s essentially no chicken in a chicken dish and they were very rude and unprofessional and hung up on us Read more

Generous serving of lemon chicken and deep fried pork chop but the pork chop was refried and overcooked. Lemon chicken is not at... all lemony, except for the batter, no flavour at all. Seafood hotpot could use more flavour, more veggies than seafood for $18dollars in a small hotpot! But that is not the worst of it though. An Asian man who looked like he owned the place or at thevery least, the manager (there were only two people there, him and the female server) greeted everybody and asked about theirfood and experience. Although it?s not a big deal, just odd that we were the only table he didn?t asked about. And when I lookedaround, I realized we were the only ones who aren?t white. At check out where you have to pay at the front, he was talkingenthusiastically at the older white customer and when it was my husband?s turn to pay, he got all cold and uninterested. Sowhat?s the deal? A classic case of fellow Asian being racist to another Asian? Sad for this person. Not eating there at all anddefinitely telling my Asian friends about it too. Boo. Read more

We ordered from empress of china the other night. We spent quite a bit of money, when we got home and tried the food, it... literally tasted like boiled noodles and vegetables, there was absolutely no flavour. We thought maybe it was just that one dishbut after trying all 8 dishes they ALL tasted like nothing. I shouldn?t have to order food to then re season it at home. It wasvery disappointing to the point where we will never order from there again and will tell our friends about how awful the foodwas. Read more

Great Chinese restaurant in East Kildonan. Friendly staff and big portion. I ordered the dinner for one platter and it has big... servings. Fried rice, mixed veges, spring roll and veal. I also tried their wings which were crispy. Read more
