Pause. The Mac & cheese was absolutely disgusting. Who mama made that??! Lol. I actually got the tender dinner and they were... crispy, but chewy?. The fact that everyone is raving about this place and calling it the best chicken in town has me appalled. Iliked the wedges. Don't go in thinking you are about to get Texas Road House customer service all in your face. But they have some great chicken... and an array of delicious sides to choose from. I only request they you guys start making buffalo chicken or a Nashville hotplate. When you visit Mountain Fried Chicken, it's always for the food. The chicken stands alone as the best tasting healthy chicken... out there. It's never greasy and since the first time I was introduced to it, it's been a delicious secret that when I returnedfrom a road trip with it in tow, I was greeted with excitement. Once a staple of fried chicken in Winston Salem. It is no longer the restaurant that it once was. When I visited this restaurant... with my friends, I was honestly shocked at the condition of the restaurant. There were napkins scattered all throughout thefloor, tables were overturned, seats were knocked over, and there were random puddles of liquid all over. Even though theconditions were this poor, I decided to order chicken because I heard that this restaurant was once extremely popular. However,I soon learned that this was the wrong decision. The chicken was extremely dry, and the sides were extremely salty. This was notrepresentative of southern fried chicken whatsoever. It was a complete letdown. Additionally, I was not confident that the foodwas not contaminated because of the poor sanitary conditions. I cannot recommend this restaurant. Read more
