Hubby gets his favorite curry powder there. It is the only place we can find *authentic japanese* curry powder! The kimchi is... large and affordable for the container size and tastes good. The sauce isle is good! Next time we will get the Yakisoba sauce,it looked interesting. Lastly, the owner or manager, the man behind the counter is a gem! Super nice and kind. The man ignored us for the most part and wouldn't tell us prices of things that weren't marked and acted like he didn't want our... business. Boxes were in the isles, blocking the way. When something had a price tag, he tried to charge me more, I'd point itout & he'd wave me off, so I didn't buy anything, which is a shame. You could smell something rotten by the freezers. The 1st 4times we stopped by, the door was locked but said Open and we even saw the guy inside. It's the only asian store near but i'llbuy my items online now. Read more
When he is actually open (whether on time or just in general), this is a nice little stop to get some basic Oriental... necessities. The aisles are a bit small and no prices are marked. The man that runs the place is incredibly nice and helpfulthough. Occasionally he has issues keeping items in stock, but usually nothing too bad. Nothing too terrible, but nothing toogreat either. I wouldn't recommend a special trip here, since you're gambling as to whether or not he is open (don't payattention to the Google hours, there's literally no hours signage on the door). But if you're nearby, see if he's open, causeit's worth stopping in. Also, yes, the panhandlers are real. Read more
Stopped here out of convenience. Decently stocked, they also have fresh vegetables etc. Some of the vegetables not very fresh. ... Sprouts were brown and lemongrass was turning brown. Lots of the shelve items still in shipping boxes on the shelves or sittingon the floor with the top cut open for customers to access. They do stock allot of the Vietnamese items we were looking for andwe made a $100+ purchase. But - I don't see us coming back or making a special trip to shop here again. Owner doesn't seem verymotivated to organize items, unpack from boxes or price everything. I know this store has been in business for a long time maybeit's just a hobby now. Read more

If you?re an Asian person like me, then you probably get your groceries at either G Mart in Greensboro or H Martin Cary. It wasn?t until recently that I figured out there was in Asian grocery store in Winston-Salem this was life-changingfor me because I no longer had to drive over 30 minutes to get groceries to make Asian cuisine. Although the grocery store isfairly small and does not carry a lot of fresh foods, I am still very thankful that they cater towards the small percentage ofAsians living in this city. They have things including curry blocks, quail eggs, Ramen, spicy chili oil, mochi powder, rice, andother stuff, only to name a few. The owner is an older middle-aged Asian man who may look mean but is very friendly andwell-meaning. He will be able to answer any questions that you have to the best of his ability and will help you locate any itemin the store. Personally, I always show him my grocery list because I can never find anything and he helps me every single time.Before you head to Gmart in Greensboro, be sure to check out the grocery store because it might save you a trip.
