This is a very poorly managed store. There were only 3 employees working with 1 working the smoothies. I could NOT believe how... ridiculously slow it was. I had to wait 45 minutes for an order!!! Do NOT come here if you are wanting anything within 30minutes. This location is so poorly managed!! It?s not the staff?s fault either because this place is an absolute mess! Shame onthe manager for completely leaving their staff to fend off a lunch crowd on a weekend while major sporting events are in town!Pathetic customer service!! Read more

The wait time is always horrible. Sometimes you'll catch them closed vs open. You may be able to use debit or you may need cash.... This is by far the worst smoothie place in Winston Salem to go to. There's no order or structure. The smoothies are fair,though. Read more

Got the Peanut/chocolate smoothie here a couple of times. Each time it tasted like they placed a single peanut in a cup of ice,... blended it, then poured water on it. I've had really good smoothies at other locations, so I am not sure what the issue is. Willnot be returning. Read more

On 8/18/2022 I got a chicken bacon flatbread and a smoothie. 4 hours after eating I was vomiting and couldn?t leave my bathroom.... Whenever I found the strength to go to the hospital I was treated for food poisoning. The medical physician asked what I ate andI explained what and where from and he quoted ?We get a lot of business from them with the same issues.? I will never eat thereagain. I will be contacting the NC department of health of hopes they either shut this place down or make a serious correctiveaction. Read more

Lots of complaints about this location. First they don't have enough employees and they follow unsanitary procedures because of... it. I ordered a sandwich online, it said it would be ready at 3:30pm. I walked in at that time, and in the front there is atable with a sign that says if you ordered online your order is picked up here and would be waiting on the table. I proceeded towatch the one person handling the sandwiches switch between taking peoples orders at the register and go back to makingsandwiches without changing his gloves. I watched him fill many orders stacking them up behind the counter, waiting patientlyfor mine. After 20 minutes after my alleged pickup time I went up to him and asked if he had filled my order yet, he thengrabbed it from the stack and handed it to me. By then it wasn't even hot anymore, and had been sitting behind the counter whereI couldn't grab it. You will wait a long time here because they don't have one person managing the register. Oh it was fantastic! A few weeks ago there was a worker at the counter, i think her tag said Jada, was absolutely amazing. She... gave us smiles, was very patient and did our order correctly. I got the kiwi strawberry smoothie, tasted great, will definitelybe coming back! Read more

We walked into Tropical Smoothie Cafe at 2:21 pm on Father?s Day to treat our dad to a smoothie and there was a handwritten sign... saying they closed at 2:30 pm due to being short staffed, which I completely understand. There were a few other customers in therestaurant that had been served and the girl at the cash register told us that they were closing at 2:30. I said okay noproblem, that we wouldn?t be hanging around and weren?t getting food and asked if they were able to make smoothies or not. Shereplied ?I mean??. My husband then said ?do you want to make smoothies or not?? to which she responded ?okay, no? and laughed.The other employees also laughed. We walked out of the door. Horrible customer service and won?t be back to a Tropical SmoothieCafe. I completely understand being short-staffed, however there is no excuse for rudeness and laughing at your customers. Read more

I love this place! Its just every time I come here I have a allergic reaction, I've mentioned it in the past on their Instagram... and they were so sweet to me and gave me a free smoothie. ( I got a mocha madness on that time and thankfully I didn't get sick!) the 3rd time ( the last time I went so Jun 15 2022 ) I got the island green smoothie and I asked the man who was making thesmoothie if he wouldn't mind cleaning the blender before he makes my smoothie because I have a lot of food allergies and he wasso kind and agreed. Like I said this place is really great and I love it I will totally recommend it to people I just don'tthink we're a good fit. :) Read more
