Update: here?s my main course from last night. The tomahawk pork chop with spinach and bacon cheddar grits was awesome. Cooked... perfect and service was again fantastic. We?ve found our new favorite restaurant. If I had only taken a photo of my maincourse!!! ???? Everything from the drinks to the service was fantastic. The goat cheese and roasted beets bruschetta wasoutstanding, and my Oscar filet was perfectly cooked with a sauce, grilled asparagus, and red mashed potatoes that were equallyas delicious. Desserts were all out of this world as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. Can?t wait to return! Read more

Just beware although there is a posted closing time. They kitchen closes 45 minutes earlier. An unexpected pleasure. Food was... awesome. Also had a Florida citrus punch cocktail. Very nice not to sweet. The sweet potatoes fries were home made. Anappetizer of fried green tomatoes. Think slices with larger size panko bread crumbs made them extra crunchy. I normally do notcare for pimento cheese. In this case it went very well with other flavors making it harmonious. Waitress was very good andattentive. The only reason I would say not to try it. Would be the next time I go it will be crowded. Read more

Seemed a little unorganized with their host/seating situation. I stood there for a few minutes before being acknowledged, and... then 2 different people tried to seat us. My husband loved the shrimp appetizer, but for $15 expected more than 3 shrimp. Bothour entrees were over cooked and the Mac and cheese that the server insisted was "the best in town" was no where near the bestanywhere ???? it had ZERO seasoning. Adding salt did nothing, it tasted like nothing. My steak was a little over cooked, but itwas edible. The mashed potatoes were good, but I wish they weren't under the steak, it was just bloody and greasy from the meat.My husband's fish was okay but he didn't understand the asparagus + grits combo. Maybe it was an off day, but I would never pay$100 for this again. The server was really nice and attentive too. Food took a bit so we weren't going to wait for them toremake anything. She did see that we both barely touched our mac & cheese, and seemed surprise we didn't want to box it up, butdidn't ask about it. Read more

A very nice Mother?s Day afternoon lunch. We were greeted by a friendly and animated gentleman and promptly seated and served by... Anjelika. She was top notch. The food was very good. The Shrimp Grits were excellent, large shrimp too. The Odd Bird is a oneof a kind and real good! The potato side was great too. The one star down was the grits had some large clumpy spots, mostlikely due to our arriving near closing. Read more

I really want to love this place and it definitely has potential to be a great restaurant, but the food is mediocre for the... price. Happy hour specials are pretty pointless, too. The ?Pimento Board? literally had a bowl of pimento cheese, a few chips, and exactly 2 carrots, 2 pickles, and 2 pieces of celery. Lol Read more

I was with a party of 10 on Saturday, all with different dietary restrictions, we were trying to find a good restaurant that... would make everyone happy. One of the girls stumbled upon The General Public House on Yelp and we decided to try it. Calledahead to make sure they could accommodate us. They were so friendly and had our table ready when we walked in. The restaurantis in a nice, relatively new neighborhood in Casselberry. Its decor was rustic and cozy. Everyone loved their meals. I had theFrench Onion soup (Gluten-free option), and Beet Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, and Ahi Tuna as a protein. Very good food. Verypersonable staff. Will definitely be back! I also appreciated the sign in the women's room that said if a woman was in distressat the restaurant because of a bad date, or company, they had a code phrase to say to the staff to help her "escape".
