It has been a while since I order here last time. But so disappointed that the food quality degrades so much! (It is used to be... much better!) The moment I unpacked the dishes I know it cannot be good. The elastic texture of chilled noodles is totally goneand it is even warm. The sauce is so watery and very blend. The cumin lamb pulled noodle is also a big regrets. I don’tbelieve authentic Xian food is supposed to be cooked this way. I would not be so disappointed if I haven’t tried theirsbefore. Read more
Many times my friends and I had stomachache after eating in this restaurants. Since we like noodles we come often but they all... of a sudden close dine in at 7:20p even they actually close at 8p. We used to come a lot around 7:30 and this is reallyunfriendly and rude. Not recommended. Staff are very lazy and the service/food quality is uncertain. Read more
Great food! Glad I gave this place a try. Lots of choices and inexpensive. Truly authentic! It’s not the normal Cantonese... style cooking everyone is used too, but you should give this a shot. Simply delicious! Read more
I ordered the hot and sour with noodles and tea egg and it was absolutely the best soup and noodles I have ever had. The tea egg... was so tasty and fresh. Super fresh tender meat, yummy veg and savory spicy broth. The noodles are thick and big and fun to eat.Usually I go to Cambridge for my noodle fill but this is definitely my new go-to spot. Honestly I thought it was okay.. The spiciest level isn’t spicy so it’s totally okay to try out. I hope in the future they... can add more spice levels! I got the cumin lamb hand pulled noodles and the hot and sour dumpling soup, and I think the porkwith the hand pulled noodles would’ve been a better choice than the lamb. The saltiness of the pork helps with the greasinessof the noodles (which were thick and amazing). I think it also helps the flavor as well because the noodles on its own was a bitbland. The lamb didn’t really do much for me, and The dumplings were alright. However, the owner was super sweet and helpful!They have different methods of payment for cash and card users. Quick service too. Of course, everyone has different tastes! ButI believe with small flavor improvements this could’ve been spot on. xx Read more
This far east, it’s hard to find Xi’an food that is THIS authentic. I mean, it’s almost literally from the other side of... the world. The cumin lamb is true to its name - spiced perfectly and grilled to perfection. I also ordered the hand-pullednoodles and lamb flatbread sandwiches. The hand-pulled noodles were pretty good, but not amazing. Gene’s is currently onlyopen for take-out, so perhaps they’ll be better when eaten freshly out of the kitchen. It could’ve done without the shreddedvegetables on top - the textural contrast doesn’t quite work with the bouncy wide noodles in my opinion. The lamb flatbreadsandwich was excellent. Really juicy, lamby, and filling. It was enough to last me the entire day. What a bang for your buck. Read more
Everything here is delicious. They have tablets you order directly from that make it super easy. Anything lamb here is a party... in your mouth, the lamb kebab, lamb or pork sandwich, the spicy lamb soup, you can't go wrong. And the value for what you get is10/10. Read more
